We ate in the restaurant 3 times, good menu, not just your usual pup food, excellent standard, superb service. Breakfast has large choice, full breakfast was huge, all sourced locally and of high quality. Staff were very friendly, very efficient, new what they were doing. Excellent stay and would definitely recommend and return"

"The check in and check out times of 5.00pm and 9.00am respectively struck me as rather restrictive. However, the owner, Sara, was most accommodating in allowing us to check in at 3.00pm. It was appreciated. The room was very comfortable and everything a guest needs was to be found, from plush dressing gowns, for wearing when going to the toilet which was not en suite per se, but next to the bedroom we stayed in, to slippers, a hair dryer and a mirror, to an iron and ironing board. Even the mugs...

"The Barleycorn is situated in the middle of a village, and it was lovely to listen to the wood pigeons burbling/cooing through the window. The rooms are not above the pub, but behind, and consequently quiet; ours was nicely furnished and the bed/mattress comfy. The owners are enthusiastic and welcoming. The main disadvantage to the location concerns traffic, such as Macdonald's lorries, that seems to race along the road: it makes finding somewhere to safely walk the dogs a little...
