The Wensleydale Hotel

8/10 Good

"Overlooking the market square it is well appointed. Staff were very good albeit they wanted an early night and closed the bar at 11p.m. only bar food on Mondays and Tuesdays and that was good. The crumble sweet was delicious. Standard Rooms were adequate. Showers a bit poky. Overall good value."

"The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Evening meal and breakfast were very good. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom could do with some updating. Several significant cracks in the walls and evidence of water leaks around the heated towel rail and over bath shower head was leaking water out when running the bath taps. We only had one night so not really an issue for us."

10/10 Excellent

"This hotel was really nice. From minite we arrived staff were great. The room was lovely, had everything that we needed and was very quiet during the night. Food in the restaurant was to die for, we had booked our anniversary meal and it did not disappoint. They even dressed the table in recognition of it being our anniversary with a bottle of processco. Breakfast next mornkng was very nice too, top quality ingredients and proper juices. Lovely that it is on the same grounds of forbidden corner, we visited there before leaving. Would definitely recommend and return"

Aysgarth Falls Hotel

8/10 Good

"First time stating in hotel although haven to Dales many times before. Overall it’s fine but not fabulous. Food is good, tasty especially the breakfast . Personally preferred the bar food to Palmers. Service was variable but most staff were very attentive. Room was comfortable, especially the bed, great shower, large TV. No air con and noisy when window opened as our room ‘ Aysgarth’ was main road facing . Generally the carpets needed a good clean on the stairs and landing . Sadly weather was bad so couldn’t explore the gardens where they are having a large number of lodges built - should be good . Overall not too bad at all but not stay there again."
