Sleepy Bear: Luxe cabin, private lake, hottub, caves, fast WiFi @ BearTrackLake

A Sleepy Bear's Dream is, as the name suggests, a dream. It's our second cabin and sleeps up to five in two bedrooms and a sleeping loft, which overlooks the great room. A 21-foot tall tree sits in the middle of the great room, supporting the main beams of the building.

The front of the house has a bow-shaped deck extending over the water where fish eagerly await a handout (from your provided fish food). Both bedrooms have private balconies, and huge outdoor living spaces are on each side of the building. The loft has its own balconies, which can be reached through patio doors. Our cabin is now equipped with up to 300Mbps fiber internet.

The ground floor contains a large recreational area featuring a hot tub, pool table, and treadmill. There's also a private dock with an electric trolling boat available for rent.

Besides the cabin, the property has many features that you'll get to enjoy while staying here. From the caves, overhangs, and cliffs to the beautiful trees and waterfalls, it's hard to imagine ever being bored at our cabin rental. We promise you will want to return. A boat or canoe can be rented in season (April–October) for an additional fee, pending availability.

Kentucky adventure

The cabin was awesome!! The hot tub was inside instead of out side witch was great bc we got to use it whenever we wanted even when it was raining and snowing!! The pool table was very nice! And the beds and pillows were amazing!! I was very clean also.

Perfect Getaway Location!

This house and surrounding property were wonderful and exactly as the owners described! It’s the perfect place to stay for relaxation but also close enough to lots of activities in the Red River Gorge area.

Wonderful Property!

This was an amazing property! Everything you needed was here. Plus - the cabin was nearby to activities, but secluded once you get to the area. We loved it! Had a great time fishing, hiking, checking out the caves, etc. Highly recommend!

WONDERFUL GETAWAY

This cabin was absolutely amazing. We enjoyed the peacefulness and comfortability of the location. The fish and turtles off of the balcony were a true enjoyment. NOTE TO OWNER... The hot tub might need to be checked for a small slow leak since we found water around it, but other than that, it was so relaxing.

Sweet 16 Dream!

We recently stayed at Sleepy Bear Cabin to celebrate my daughter’s 16th birthday — her one request was a cabin getaway, and we couldn’t have picked a better place! We've visited other cabins for various occasions in the past, but Sleepy Bear absolutely blew them all away.Before we even arrived, the owner sent a detailed message that made check-in and checkout a breeze. It even included walking directions to the different trails and sites on the property, which was a wonderful touch!The cabin itself was spotless and incredibly well-organized. There were helpful labels everywhere making it easy to find cookware and other essentials. Every patio offered stunning views.While the cabin was amazing, the property it sits on was equally impressive. There’s so much to do without ever needing to leave — beautiful hiking trails, fantastic caves to explore, and a waterfall.Inside the cabin, there was plenty of sleeping space, a super fast ice maker (a small but awesome detail!), a freshly cleaned Blackstone grill, a hot tub, and a pool table — all sparkling clean and ready to enjoy. Sleepy Bear Cabin is truly a hidden gem, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, adventure-filled escape. We’re already planning to come back — next time, we’re definitely renting a boat!Thank you for making our daughter’s Sweet 16 so special!

Relaxing stay

We had a great time hiking around the lake, feeding the fish and turtles, and fishing off the dock and boat. Cabin has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We brought food and cooked most of our meals there. Cabin is clean and well-kept.

Excellent place to stay!

A great place to get away and relax. The cabin was clean and welcoming and the lake view was amazing! We loved taking the canoe out on the lake in the mornings, it was very quiet and peaceful. The lake house was the perfect place to come back to and relax after a long hike at Natural Bridge. I would definitely recommend this place for others.

Peaceful Retreat

This was a beautiful cabin right on the lake. We were able to fish (be ready for catfish), kayak, hike and relax all week. The property has beautiful trails that are a must see (cliffs and caves). We also hiked Natural bridge and the geological area which are about 20 minutes away. Thanks! Matthew

My family enjoyed the cabin and the outdoors. The pool table and hot tub was so much fun and no need leave. We also walked the paths to the caves and enjoyed our time. Clean as stocked with everything you need.

Great getaway!

Most importantly the home was very clean! Hiking on the property, wonderful hot tub, fishing and very quiet. They even provided an amazing variety of spices and amenities which was amazing as we didn't need to go to the store for the few things we forgot! Wonderful host and we will definitely be back!

Beautiful area, secluded lake front visit

The cabin was described perfectly. Everything was provided. Communication with the providers was excellent and quick. Cabin was very clean and organized. The fishing on the lake was excellent. I didn't expect the lake to be that deep and nice. It was well taken care of also.

Wonderful Vacation

Our family had a wonderful time during our stay at the cabin. We went fishing and kayaking everyday. We really enjoyed the game room in the evening! There was plenty of room to spread out. The various seating areas were especially nice allowing some quiet time as well. The cabin was very clean and the stocked pantry was a nice touch. The location was nice as well with access to the gorge and the state park near by. We will definitely be coming back!

Annual guys trip

The cabin was great, location was amazing even with the lake being frozen, beautiful with the snow. Cabin had everything we needed, hot tub was clean, and the pool table was in really good shape. Communication with the owners was excellent with very fast response time. I'd be happy to stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone with a very small group of 6 or less people. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful cabin surrounded by nature!!!

Gorgeous place to stay

The cabin was gorgeous and very clean. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need. They have thought of everything here. The hiking to the caves was so pretty and the ladder cave is a must see. The lake full of fish and turtles with food there to feed them. We caught some pretty nice size catfish. We came to hike but never wanted to leave the cabin. We will be back next year!

Great getaway

We spent Thansgiving in this wonderful house. It is beautiful and welcoming. The kitchen was well equipped including spices and herbs. The area was quiet and calming. Our three teenagers and us enjoyed our time together. We had fun in the hot tub downstairs and went for a walk in the woods. We hope to come back.

Relaxing Stay

The view from the cabin is beautiful. The fish and turtles would greet us when we came out on the deck overlooking the lake. We enjoyed the hot tub. All of us thought the beds were so comfortable. I appreciated the spices, plastic wrap, foil, etc. that was available to us to use. The cabin was very clean. I think the boat and fishing would be fun, but we didn't do it. I highly recommend this cabin - unless you have difficulty with stairs.

This cabin was just perfect! (Even better than the pictures). My husband and I stayed for 4 days with our daughter, son-in-law, and our two grandchildren. The cabin is beautiful with a great layout. The beds are super comfortable and linens/towels are high end. We did not leave the property for the entire time because there was so much to do: fishing, boating, hiking (don't miss the trails to the caves!), fires in the evening, pool table, hot tub. We used the propane grill each night and made great meals in the well-appointed kitchen. The rental process from my first email right up to our check out was absolutely worry free. I highly recommend this cabin and would definitely visit again.

Beautiful property

Beautiful property and cabin. We had a great time. Some of the pictures show things not there( knife set/recumbent bike). Loved the boat for use. Owner was very responsive if/when we had issues. Would have liked to use the canoe, but it was an extra daily charge and we felt like we were already paying a premium price. My suggestions: if you need more than the kitchen basics, bring them with you. It would be lovely to have some soft seating in the basement to be able to hang out on and watch the pool players.

Can't wait to go back!

This cabin was exactly as described and shown in the VRBO ad. If anything, it was way cooler than we even expected. The owners have thought of almost everything, from super comfortable beds, all the way down to a well stocked kitchen with all the pots, pans, and spices you'll need. They even had coffee packets available for our morning coffee. The lake is absolutely beautiful and the fishing was fantastic. We caught all the bluegills, crappies, and catfish we wanted to (all catch and release, but that was ok). The most fun thing was sitting at the table on the deck that hangs out over the lake, playing cards, eating dinner and catching fish, all at the same time. We were all laughing our heads off every time the poles took off with another fish. (Hold my cards, I'll be right back!! ) We are already trying to figure out when we can go back!
