"Good location, clean and good service "

"The Birks was fabulous. It's not cheap but if you can afford it, you won't be disappointed. It's probably one of the best maintained, clean and well appointed hotels that I have ever stayed in and we do holiday quite a bit. Great stay. If I ever came back to Montreal I wouldn't stay any where else. "

"It is a 3/5 2-Star Hotel. The lobby is inviting, the front desk staff on all three interactions I had were less than focused, but you honestly get what you pay for. The vending machines are significantly over-priced. When you arrive, there is a IGA about 2 blocks away and a dollarama 3 blocks away. Check in, drop your stuff, and go stock up. Your mini fridge and freeze is good - there is a microwave in the laundry room (?) rather than in each room. The rooms themselves are a combination of 90s furniture and peeling wallpaper/grime, but I will say the shower seemed newer and was in fantastic working order. The biggest complaint I have is the SMELL in the rooms that is noticeable the minute you open the door. Suggest picking up odor remover if you're smell sensitive at the Dollarama or IGA. If you're staying longer as well your clothes will also smell. The rooms are large but poorly lit - and when you use the lamps you immediately notice the stains. It is a 2-Star Hotel that could use a little more care on the maintenance end of things - but you get what you pay for. If you're looking to just have a place to sleep and nothing else - you've found it. If you are sensitive to smells or will be coming back to the room intoxicated - I'd suggest the smaller rooms (but better overall conditioned) Hotel Zero about 2 blocks away. It is a great budget option for students - but I will not be returning on future trips."

"Unfortunately, I only had one night in Montreal and the Hyatt was picked for the ease of access to and from the highway. The hotel was modern and comfortable. The food was good and the staff were pleasant. A good place to stop."

"It was a clean and spacious room. Really short walking distance to street full of foods and shopping stores. Will definitely come back. Welcome snacks and water plus free parking are a plus. "

"We only stayed one night but it will probably remain as one of the most memorable hotel experiences we’ve had. We arrived before 9am, fully expecting to store our luggage for the day, but they already had a room available for us. What’s more, our room was on the second floor on the corner so we could watch all the activity below us in the square outside Notre Dame from the four enormous windows. So neat! The decor of the hotel is lovely, especially liked the bathroom. Bed was comfortable but the pillows were very soft. That seems to be the norm for hotels these days though. Location is very convenient - we were able to come back to the hotel twice during the day just to drop off purchases, rest, and freshen up before heading out into the old town again. We didn’t use the metro but there is a station just down the hill. Rooftop terrace was fun but my husband said the hamburger was maybe the worst he’s had. But we weren’t really there for the food anyway. All the staff, from the front door to the rooftop were very helpful and friendly. Will stay again if the oppprtunity arises and highly recommend. "
