Barlume Beach Montauk

8/10 Good

"Extremely slow breakfast service the 3 days I stayed at the property. People were kind, but you were welcomed slowly (10 minutes for water when the place has 3 tables with guests?). They tack on a ridiculous 100$ facilities fees per day. I don't remember this being written anywhere in the Expedia booking and it was only presented in the fine print of the document you sign at check-in. There's no way to opt out. I only go to use the facilities 1 out of my 3 days (it was raining and I was working). The outdoor pool-side food/beverage service is seemingly inexistent. On my one visit, no one passed by in the first hour. I asked the attendant who told me to go get someone inside myself. I couldn't understand why they couldn't call them themselves. I went inside myself and eventually found someone to come out and get my order and those of the other guests. Hotel was otherwise pretty, has a nice beach and is clean. Tony and Michael (if I remember their names correctly) handled this drop-off car service and were extremely friendly. The hotel is relatively close to nice restaurants, bars, and beaches. This car service does wonders to skip ubers that take like 10 minutes to get to you."

"This was such a lovely hotel + Montauk experience! It’s right next to the beach, in a great part of town, walking distance to a lot of restaurants and shops. Casual, yet elevated with cute little amenities, like beach chairs and a white noise machine which are such perfect additions. I will absolutely be coming back to this gem of a hotel."

"Good location, easy trip from Orient Point ferry. Nice property and staff was very good, helpful with recommendations on local places. Beach passes provided. A bit pricey, but comes with the territory and there aren't many places that offer 2 bedroom suites. Bedrooms are on the small side, but comfortable. Overall an enjoyable two night stay."

"Stayed here for 1 night and want to come back! Love that it’s dog friendly and also so close to greenport village. The only thing was that the bathroom smelled very mildewy when we woke up in the morning. There was a vent fan but there was no switch that turned it on. Aside from that the unit was great. We loved the fire pit, and I wasn't expecting a standalone tub. The dishes and glassware were also very nice. There’s even a dishwasher built into the counter. We will definitely be back!"

"It was not user-friendly for handicap people my mother used a Rollator there were stairs everywhere, uneven blocks, etc. you always had to go take steps to your room up or down The serving staff was excellent But be careful of additional charges as I had to really review my folio and was refunded an occurrence They need additional chairs for the pool and bar areas The coffee server at the shop was the only server They need two in the morning"
