I appreciate the online check-in option. It made the process very easily. The furniture and carpet appeared to be new-“ish,” but holy, did our room reek of stale cigarettes. The bed appeared clean and was relatively comfortable. The floor of the shower was dark gray from years of wear and there was mildew on the caulk. This place desperately needs to be gutted and remodeled if they’re going to continue charging what they do. Overall, I would only choose to stay here if it was the very last option.

The staff were great, and the breakfast options are good as well. The rooms need to be deep cleaned, specially the bathrooms. There was mold in the shower walls, ceiling, and the floor was dirty as well.

The hotel needs updating. We spent way too much to stay there to have flies swarming in our room and the hotel to smell musty and smokey inside even though it’s supposed to be smoke free. The breakfast selection was good and the gal at the front desk for check in was great. Other that those two compliments, I can’t say much about the hotel. We spent $750 for two nights for a hotel maybe worth $300 max for a busy weekend in town. I have asked for the hotel to call us and we have received no call to discuss our issues

Staff was polite and excellent when we checked in. Room was clean. Building is tired. Walls were thin. Heard the neighbors alarm clock go off. HVAC unit did not allow us to put on a manual low fan which would have created enough white noise to cancel those other noises. The worst thing is that they claim 100% smoke free. NOT even close. We had a near constant waft of smoke smell in our room. Can't go back for that reason alone.

First, the woman at the daytime front desk was extremely helpful in every way. We were with family for a wedding. We flew into Mpls 2 days early and drove to Baxter. Check in went smoothly. The desk clerk was able to accommodate our request for all 3 rooms to be on the same floor, in spite of a high capacity weekend. The rooms are basic. It is obvious that the hotel is older and a bit worn. Our room smelled mildly of smoke when we entered (non smoking room) but overall wasn’t bothersome. The bed was comfortable and the room quiet at night. Temp is controlled by a unit in the wall which was adequate, though loud. We found the breakfast to be very complete with a wide variety of choices. The location of the hotel is very convenient to all kinds of restaurants and shopping. We were looking for a group activity on Friday and the desk clerk mentioned the Haunted Trails event at the Northland Arboretum. Our family group included a 15 year old, 7 year old and 4 year old. We followed her suggestion and attended that event on Friday night and had a blast!

This place is run down and not nearly as nice as it looks in the pictures. I didn’t mind it since I was staying there for work but my wife wouldn’t have liked it at all. The tub drain was clogged in one of the rooms and there was hair that came up out of the drain… pretty gross. The beds were ok, the ac was cold, and the breakfast was fine for free. I wouldn’t be excited to stay there again.

The staff was amazing! Breakfast was good! We didn't order the pizza, but we loved that they offered food 24 hours a day, as an option. I will say that we had a truck with a 6ft box and a car dolly behind us, and there were 3 spots in the way back for parking. I do suggest walking back to make sure you have room before driving in.

Front desk member was pleasant and greeted me with a smile. Housekeeping staff did an amazing job when requesting a later clean time for my room when staying multiple nights. A very nice variety of breakfast items to choose from (eggs, meat, biscuits, gravy, cereal, muffins/bread, pancakes, waffles, yogurt, milk, juice, and coffee/tea). Hotel is convenient walking distance to grocery/liquor store and great sushi/ramen restaurant.

Our room was clean, but had a strange smell to it - like decades of smoke before it became non-smoking. The room had been re-done with new(er) bedding and couch, but the functional items (doors, bathroom) hadn't been refurbished and our older shower handle made it hard to turn water on/off. We had a family suite, but weren't able to take advantage of the pull out couch, because it wasn't a standard pull out - it was like the IKEA couches where the base pulls out to make a platform - but doesn't fit conventional sheets and has depressions in it where the cushions meet, leaving it uncomfortable. Additionally, we were out of body wash and noted this to the staff on day one and it wasn't filled during our stay. The main things were solid. It was safe, clean, and the heating/ac worked. The breakfast was meh in quality but continually addressed and always had food and was clean. It worked for what we needed but I am unlikely to return.
