"Very small room. Old building that needs a lot of money to upgrade it. The staff changed our room from 2nd floor to a ground floor room due to a disability- so they were very helpful. There was free parking, a bar, restaurant ( continental breakfast) and plenty of original building features. The beds were clean and we had plenty of fresh towels. Good facilities for the price. "

"This was such a lovely place. The perfect spot to relax and unwind after a 30 hour day. Joy was a great host and very quick to respond with any questions we had. We stayed for one night but wish we could have stayed longer. Would definitely come back. "

"Having seen other reviews, we were pleasantly surprised to see that whilst the main areas of the hotel look a little outdated and in need of renovation, our room was clean and we were given a sea-view room. However, the toilet did not flush at all and the shower did not work; we only discovered this as we were getting ready for check out. There also appeared to be a potential asbestos risk with the flaking textured coating on the ceiling of the wardrobe with cracks in the ceiling and dust and debris on the shelf."

"We had a lovely stay for one night, it is the perfect location, making it easy to walk everywhere. We had everything we needed. We had a sea view, but unfortunately, it was covered with scaffolding, which was disappointing! The breakfast was really nice, and you had plenty of choices to pick from. "

"We stayed at Hockley House for a week with friends (6 adults, 4 children) and had a wonderful time. The house is large and well equipped and the garden was perfect for the kids to play in and adults to sit and enjoy the great weather we were blessed with. Plenty of comfortable seating in a sheltered sunny area between beautiful banks covered with daffodils and the occasional bunny rabbit, soundtracked by lovely birdsong. The hot tub provided relaxation and entertainment for adults and kids alike. Plenty to do in the area and the host Ange was really helpful and welcoming. We really enjoyed ourselves and had a fantastic week. No complaints!"

"Host cancelled a few hours before check in, after we had already travelled to the location. Absolutely disgusting treatment, they claimed to have double booked the property but how is that possible to only discover that on the day of check in? Owner should be banned from Vrbo"
