Cozy, clean, updated home located in-town Bar Harbor, a 5 minute walk from the village green.
Situated in a quiet neighborhood with a large enclosed yard, this home is a great spot for a family vacation.

Three bedrooms, one bath, fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room and wrap around deck with table and chairs- all on one level, also with a basement-level laundry with washer/dryer.
There is a propane grill and picnic table in the fully fenced yard.

Bedrooms: master bedroom with queen bed, 2nd bedroom with queen bed, 3rd bedroom with 2 twin beds, all have have AC units.

Kitchen: all updated appliances - dishwasher, microwave, fridge, stove/oven, blender, mixer, center bar with 2 stools.

Dining room: Seating for 6 around dining table.

Living room: large couch and love seat and chair, table and bench for computer/work area, satellite TV with DVD, high speed wireless Internet.

Wonderful stay!

We have stayed at Shannon Cottage many times. It is very comfortable and well stocked. The location is perfect! It is in a quiet residential area just a couple of blocks from the town square. The fened yard is great for our dogs. The owner is lovely and provides a personal touch.

Great Location in a Quiet Neighborhood

We loved staying at this cozy cottage! It’s conveniently located within walking distance to restaurants, shops and the waterfront. And it’s just a very short drive to explore Acadia National park. The neighborhood is very quiet. Our pup enjoyed the fenced-in backyard too 🐶 We’re looking forward to coming back to Bar Harbor soon!

Another nice stay at Shannon Cottage

This is our 4th stay here, I think. Have lost track. It's amazing how quiet it is considering how close it is to BH ctr. We value being able to park the car (plenty of room for multiple cars although we only ever have one) and walk everywhere in town after a day in the park. Not only close to restaurants but also < 10 minute walk to the YMCA

Wonderful stay in Bar Harbor

Shannon Cottage was a great home base for exploring all Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park has to offer. The house was well-stocked with essentials and kitchen gear. The fenced-in backyard was perfect for our dog. The host was communicative and helpful. Highly recommend!

As good as a high end hotel

This property was amazing. Yard and house was much bigger than expected. We had 4 adults, one kid, and 2 large dogs and had room to spare. Perfect location off of main roads but short walk to everything. Everything was stocked more than any other place I've stayed. Its clear the owners take pride and joy in this place.

Dog Friendly Ranch-Style House in Bar Harbor

Our second stay here was just as nice as our first. The house is very comfortable with a lovely, fully equipped kitchen. The fenced-in yard is great for our 50 pound lab mix.

Great location and responsive host! Needs improvement in cleanliness And maintenance.

Shannon cottage from the outside is charming and the location is fantastic. Barbara is very responsive and very helpful. Perhaps because it was the end of the season, the bathroom was not very clean, and there were a number of minor maintenance issues that need to be addressed which we communicated to her.

Great relaxed house in a perfect location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property and would do so again. Clean, comfortable, everything we could need was there, and the location was perfect for exploring everything while an easy walk to town. Our pups enjoyed the yard and were at ease in the quiet neighborhood. The owner communicated well and promptly. We even had fresh flowers! Thank you Barbara for a wonderful place to stay for our vacation! Made some great memories with our daughter.

Vacation in Bar Harbor

My husband, my daughter and two grandaughters stayed here for a week. The location was better than expected and the house was very cozy and comfortable with everything you need. Safe and quiet neighborhood about a block from downtown. I would drive my family to dinner and then return the car to the house (husband sprained his ankle). Really enjoyed our stay at this house!

Excellent location

The cottage was perfect for 4 adults and two dogs. Everything that you could ever require on vacation was provided by the homeowner. The large fenced in backyard was great place to run our dogs. The outstanding location was a 5 minute walk to town and a short drive to Acadia park. Highly recommended!!!!!! Joe / Pa

Wonderful stay

I brought my daugthers (9 and 11) and also my mom and dog. The fenced in yard was very handy. The neighborhood was quiet and it was safe and easy to bike and walk. We went to town by foot most times which was super convenient. Overall, everyone enjoyed their stay. If I could make one suggestion, it would be that the house needs room darkening shades for sleep purposes.

This was our second visit to this property and it will continue to be our first choice when planning upcoming trips to Bar Harbor. It's located in a quiet neighborhood that was within an easy walk to town and the water. Very close to hiking trails. We appreciated the special touches, including toiletries to cover unexpected needs and fresh flowers and chocolates on arrival. We're happy to have found this gem. It makes for easy trip planning in the future.

Perfect location! Lots of space!

We all enjoyed Shannon Cottage. We hosted lots of family gatherings. The large kitchen and deck made it easy. The yard was perfect for our many kickball games! The cottage is incredibly well stocked. We brought many things which we could have left home. The Shannon Road location was quiet and convenient. Just the best for our family vacation! Thank you, Barbara!

Perfect location in a pet-friendly town

We've been to Bar Harbor before, but this was the first visit with our two greyhounds. The cottage is tucked back in a quiet neighborhood that is only a 5-minute walk away from the dog-friendly town shops and restaurants, and a short drive to the back entrance to Acadia. The large fenced-in yard allowed the dogs to play off-leash. The cottage itself has a nice layout. We cooked meals every day in the well-equipped kitchen full of everything you'll need. There's a grill out back as well. We will look to stay here again on our next trip to the area.

Great location for access to Acadia

This house is right in downtown Bar Harbor. Perfect spot for grabbing food at the restaurants or the grocery store a few blocks away. We went to Acadia every day and it was a quick trip. The house is FULLY stocked including everything needed to cook. It was clean, nicely decorated and perfect for our family and dog. Quiet and safe neighborhood that our children could walk and scooter around. Host left us flowers and chocolates for Easter! Thanks for a great spring break vacation!

All the comforts of home.

We really enjoyed our trip to Bar Harbor. The location of this house is perfect. It’s a short walk into town and an easy drive to Acadia NP. We cooked most of our meals during our 6 day stay here. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, pots and pans, dishes and had a nice selection of spices. This made cooking at “home” a snap. The bed that I slept in is comfortable and the water pressure for showers was good. We were able to relax in the living room on comfortable furniture when we were out exploring. Our dogs loved the yard and in warmer weather there’s plenty of space to relax outside.

Love the extras!

Shannon Cottage is in a great location that is within walking distance to town. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood, we felt extremely safe being out and about after dark. Well equipped kitchen with lots extras to help with cooking - new pans, bowls, cooking utensils, spices, sugar, oil, vinegar, Pam, paper products, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, dish liquid, etc. Games, books, and movies were provided for entertainment. Very accommodating of our dogs - fenced in back yard and a filled water dish was waiting for our arrival. Digital lock made it so everyone in our group could come and go as they pleased. Looking forward to a return visit!!

Another great Bar Harbor stay at Shannon Cottage

Our 2nd time staying here. The owner was good enough to set it up so we could arrive early. Place perfect for us. Very quiet street, yet stone's throw to Mt Desert St in Bar Harbor downtown. Allows you to ditch the car when going about town. Nice weather this time so we ate lunch on the deck under the parasol shade. A nice perk. Not related to the cottage but the lobster roll at "The Hotdog Stand" in Winter Harbor (Schoodic Pennisula) is my wife's new favorite after discovering last time here that Adelman's Deli had closed. Of course, it's a two-hour boat (or car) ride round trip but if you like hot buttered lobster rolls worth a stop if you're going out there.

Quiet home near main street Bar Harbor

We were a family of 5 that stayed for a week. The house was immaculate and very well stocked. The host, Barbara was very attentive, although we really didn't need to contact her for anything. The location was great. The neighborhood was quiet, which was a nice contrast to the bustle of main street. Had we brought our dogs there was a very nice fenced in yard. The twin beds were a little stiff and while the house was air conditioned it was done with units, the main one being in one of the bedrooms. It was quite loud, but all of the units together did the trick. We turned the main one off at night after the house cooled down and were quite comfortable. This is the perfect place if you want to be close to main street but also would like your space and privacy. Would definitely stay again.

Super clean, fabulous location

I traveled with my niece and our dogs. The enclosed backyard is spacious, secure and well maintained. It does not have night time lighting, so bring a flashlight. House is very clean and cozy. Beds are comfortable. Plenty of glasses, mugs, dishes and cookware. All in very good condition. We had great weather, but needed to use the heat once. It worked very well. It’s just a few blocks from the town square. Close to everything. We didn’t need our cars at all to do all the downtown stuff. I highly recommend this rental. We hope to book it again.
