"This place is overall a great option to stay—close enough to drive to the Hamptons, or stay near Riverhead. As other reviews have mentioned, it seems that the property is under new ownership and is being completely renovated. Our room was fully renovated, clean, and cozy. The lobby was renovated as well. There’s a nice pickleball court that just opened, but I never got a chance to use it. That said, there are still some things that could be improved (if they aren’t already in the process of doing so): The bed pillows were flat and we only had 2 for a king-sized bed, but I asked for more and they brought them directly to our room. The bed linens were decent though. The bath towels seemed to be leftover from the previous management, because none of them matched. Depending on the towels we received for the day, some were nice and others reminded me of thin hotel pool towels. The walk-in shower (which is tiled beautifully!) didn’t have any sort of lip on the floor to catch excess water that pooled up by the shower entrance, so we needed to place towels on the floor for this purpose. With that in mind, I recommend this place and would stay here again. I wish some things were better, but they may just be a work in progress. I found the motel layout to be very convenient for packing stuff in the car to go to the beach right outside the door. It was a 4.5/5 star experience, and for the price, you can’t beat it. At the end of the day, no hotel room is perfect."

"Beautiful escape from the city with dramatic views of the ocean. We spent the weekend enjoying the beach (steps away) and local wineries & farm stands. We made full use of the ocean-view deck, grilling a sunset meal and reading on the hammock. The community the house is a part of is incredibly kind. I even misplaced sunglasses the first day on the beach and found them waiting on a post for me TWO DAYS later. Alan was quick to respond throughout and very accommodating all weekend. I'll be back!"

"This is a comfortable, clean, well-appointed home with every consideration thought through, and implemented by the hosts.The owners have put a lot of effort into making sure this vacation property is family-friendly, beautiful, restful, spacious, tranquil and easy to relax in. Even the landscaping and general outside ambiance is beyond lovely. The Kitchen is well-stocked and the dining room is welcoming. This means that cooking a family dinner, baking a cake, or enjoying summer board games just comes naturally. This home contains exactly what our family loved about visits to the East End when we were growing up.There is a quick walk to the beach. And, on a clear night, the large bedroom windows look right up into the western sky, so that one can see the stars quite clearly. Better yet, during a nap on a summers' afternoon, one can look out the windows and watch the clouds go by. That is precisely what July & August vacations are for! Beach-going, Cloud-watching, star-gazing, ......and PLAY!Children of all ages will love the large bin in the backyard which has boogie boards and other beach equipment. "The adults" can make delicious food on the grill. But then, maybe, all food is delicious after a hike and a swim in the Long Island Sound? We'll definitely be back next year to study this important theory. Wild horses couldn't keep us away."
