"Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple. The piazza out front was noisy if the window was open but the room was quiet with it closed. The location could seem a bit off-putting at first but once we got our bearings it turned out to be a popular and touristy area and an easy five minute walk to the main cathedral square and market full of restaurants, bars and hopping nightlife. Catania is chaotic but quite safe. A great choice for the budget traveller. "

"The villa is in a beautiful spot with a view of Mt Etna. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, not much English and our Italian was worse. Translation app helped a lot. There were 12 of us and the kids were in the pool most of the day. It’s in between Catalina and Syracuse so you definitely need a car. The villa itself is older and in a quiet area and large sitting areas outside and inside.. Kitchen is small and no toaster but we used the oven. "
