"We had a great time staying here for this trip. It was the absolutely perfect location and cottage. The only thing we were upset with, was that we decided to stay in Edinburgh for the last 2 days of our trip to Scotland, and boy that was a mistake, we should have stayed here and explored the area more! The location is very central to a lot of the really cool things to see in Scotland. Castles, villages, mountains, and the train station are all nearby. I will say in that area though (this is not a bad thing about the property)...make sure you get dinner reservations at the dinner places around there! haha. We didn't understand that until about the 3rd day. Once we figured out to get reservations, dinners went great! Thank you for your hospitality, Katie, we cannot wait to get back. My two teenage daughters list Taylor Swift as their favorite part of the trip, and your place as their second favorite, haha. I think that's pretty good!"

The family room was very comfortable for our family of 2 adults and 2 kids, and our kids liked having their own room with a bunkbed. We liked the historical building, and the location within walking distance of the castle, the train station, and restaurants."

"Friendly staff at check-in/out. The place is very basic and was last updated probably ages ago. It is more hostel than hotel, with residents using self-catering kitchen etc, hence the bargain price. Showers and WCs a couple of strides down the corridor. Both them and the room were kept very clean. Double bedroom a more generous size than expected. Mattress is basic with wobbly springs but hey...linen was clean and fresh. "
