This is what some of our winters look like out near us! These are considered major secondary roads that are usually opened up once highways are passable. The drifts can reach up to 4 foot on the roads...and upwards of 25 foot after the County comes through and rolls everything back. By the way, there ARE ditches for these roads. It really is quite beautiful and treacherous at the same time!

We were in the area for a doctor's appt in Midland so we didn't visit Auburn as we just got on the highway toward Midland. This hotel though was very affordable compared to places in Midland.
