Had high hopes...but they were quickly dashed.
It pains me to write a negative review but to sum it up, we had booked for 2 nights, left after 1. Had zero response from owner leading up as we sent emails requesting info. Experienced great difficulty upon check-in (nobody was there and reception forgot to send us check-in instructions). Room had substantial amounts of dog-hair under the bed. AC unit sounded like a diesel turbine. I could go on. Once the receptionist came to the Inn, she was very kind and apologetic, so there was no issue w attitiude, it was just a disapointing experience. We ended up booking a motel 5 min out of town. Was also promised a follow-up email by the owner but to date have received nothing.

Very accommodating to early check in. Delicious homemade cooked breakfast. Antiques and mansion history were wonderful. The mansion in general looked “tired”. Could due with interior paint job. This was our second visit.

We stayed for one night in the Irish Immigrant's Room and it was a very unique and memorable experience. The inn has lots of old charm and the helpers who set up the breakfast in the morning were all very enthusiastic and nice! I never got to meet the innkeeper but messaged with him the day before arrival to arrange late check-in and he was very nice about it. I was also allowed a slightly later check-out which was much appreciated. Overall, a positive experience and would recommend to others!

The property was trouble and in a bad part of the city. I called for an early check in they charged me $20 to do so. Then I asked for a room with two queens beds he charged me another $50. We werent even there for 24 hours was not worth $298 for one night. There isnt even a coffee maker in the room. Will never stay there again or recommend it

Alfred is a wonderful host who has created a wonderful bed and breakfast out of the historic Power's Mansion. Not only was the breakfast outstanding (he's also a trained Cordon Bleu chef), the conversations that we had with him were memorable and one of the highlights of our trip. Alfred is superb and so is his Inn.

It is an older building full of history. The host is a gracious and friendly gentleman, who has a lot story to share about the building and the town history. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would recommend to anyone.

Alfred, the inn keeper, was lovely and welcoming. We had an amazing breakfast by the fire in the Victorian dining room. What a fun experience. Walking distance to bars and restaurants and super close to wineries and hiking trails. Book early! This place is rightfully booked up.

The historical inn is very charming and Alfred, the innkeeper is very hospitable. The downtown location offers many conveniences for shopping and entertainment. Old Town Auburn is a very short drive (or a nice walk) from the inn. We were here last April 2021 when many of the businesses were closed due to COVID. This visit we were very happy to see that many of the businesses are back up and running. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a pleasant stay in North Auburn. Booking on line was very easy - you can even choose a theme room! And don't forget to plan a day trip to many of the hiking trails nearby.

The Inn was very charming, well suited for couples. The innkeeper prepared breakfast for the guests every morning. I would have liked a chest of drawers to put all my clothes into, there was an armoire that held a half dozen shirts and no place to put all of my hygiene care items I brought. The room could have been a little bigger.

I think this is the best bed and breakfast experience I have ever had! I have travelled extensively and stayed often at historic locations, but this place is a standout! The proprietor was extremely helpful, even with meeting me in the parking lot and helping with my bags. His personal "tour" of the building and its furnishings was outstanding, bring alive the history of the place and the town where it is situated. I absolutely LOVE the Auburn area, and this property is one of the jewels in its crown. This town is a must-see, and this property is a "must-stay"!
