"I stayed for one night in June 2024. The food was phenomenal and the staff were extremely attentive and considerate. Thank you especially to Megumi who took such great care of me. Having a private onsen with a great view was quite an experience, it was absolutely amazing. They have a free shuttle service for pick up and drop off at Gora Station (and I think other areas close by) so just let them know you need it. This was certainly one of the highlights of my trip. "Nice, large Japanese style rooms right on the river. Excellent breakfast, buffet with lots of options for everyone. Easily walkable into town with lots of dining options there, as long as you get there early. (A few are open later). Ping pong table as well; and karaoke rooms (for a fee). We rented the private onsen for an hour for our family, since the kids were shy about using the public ones. "

"5 minutes walk from Souzan station, place was quiet with 2 onsens. Onsen are rotated every 12 hours. Kaiseki styled Dinner and breakfast were provided as there is very limited food option in Hakone area and most public transport end at 5pm"

"We had two nights in this classic old ryokan. It is one of the oldest in Gora with a long history, and the place exudes history and classic Japanese history. The staff was superb, and the food was fantastic. The onsens were relaxing. The ryokan has a large private forest garden and depending on the route taken can be seen in 13 mins or an hour. It was amazing. We woukd definately stay again, and what appealed to us was the classic old school nature of the place, with plenty of aged patina...

"This was the first time for my husband and I staying at a top notch Hoshino resort! The experience of approaching and entering the building is a memorable experience by itself! When we arrived by a taxi at the resort on Nov 14, we are greeted by the staff outside by the gate, and she helps me with my carry-on and lead us to the reception area upstairs with an impressive escalator.
