A lack of recent rainfall exposed this clay bank along Wright Patman Lake in Bowie County, Texas. Beginning in 800 a.d., Caddo Indians used clay from this region to make their famous pottery. The earthenware pots were made by hand and fired in an open fire. Impurities in the clay had to be removed by hand or sieved out before making fine pottery.

"We had a wonderful girls weekend here and could not have liked it more. Kayaking was so fun and we fell in love with the are just past the underpass bridge.Beds were super comfy and kitchen was great. Very private area, but close to a few stores and restaurants. We would definitely come back again!"

"This was a wonderful family stay! The location is perfect right next to the river for fishing and canoeing and a quick drive or walk into town to explore. "It was gorgeous and very calming endless outdoor adventure. My only setback was this was the first experience with solar power and it would have been helpful to have a welcome book with instructions on how to unplug the outside lights when not in use as well as a guideline on the power and how to prevent overuse and what to do when if it runs out. Outside of this I highly recommend this oasis to disconnect from technology a bit and really enjoy time with your family and embrace the gorgeous...
