I never met my host that I rented from. They were helpful prior to arrival with setting up a taxi for €35 from the airport. You can take the train to the Omonia Station for only €10. I did that in the way back.
For a first visit to Athens, I think one would benefit more from a concierge service st a hotel instead. If this a repeat visit, it would be fine.
The penthouse was nice, the location is okay. There are places to eat all near it. Great food and tzatziki...yum!
Take the metro €9 Euro for a 5 day pass good for the bus and train.
The acropoli was amazing and the Olympic stadium was pretty freaking cool. Check to see when they might be free.
If you take a train and go about theee stations away to Kallithea and walk down the street to this little diner. You will save an avg € 3-4 per meal.
For me though I had the worst weather you could want for a vacation a d that didn’t benefit using the balcony. So my vacations was not great.
I was told that I would have a bottle of wine and a cake to celebrate my bday trip, but that never happened.
The two things I didn’t like: 30 min before you want to shower, you have to turn on the hot water heater and then turn it off when done. A little inconvenient in the mornings. Shower is a bit scary as you have to step up about 14 inches to get in.
The second is the key scenario. Too bulky. Could give the code to the box to hold the keys there so you don’t lose them.
Otherwise ok.
Thanks
