Hotel Spa John te lo busca

Hotel Spa John te lo busca

10/10 Excellent
"This is by far the definitive place to stay on the Camino if you want to overnight in Castrojerez. The hotelier, Jairo, was beyond helpful, going above and beyond to make my stay excellent and relaxing. The spa pool is particularly nice and a welcomed feature for tired muscles after a long Camino trek from Burgos. The inner patio is especially comfortable and impressive, and the lounge, with its Netflix enabled high definition screen was awesome. I caught up with an episode of one of my favourite series, in English, after writing a few emails in the patio. This is living at a very high level. Also worth noting is that they have excellent facilities for cyclists especially, with a complete bicycle specific tool set, a compressor, and dedicated bicycle stands in the gorgeous patio. In terms of comfort, the stuffed recliners in the second level, accompanied by the sound of falling water beckons you to relax and unwind, and I even managed to doze off for a reinvigorating afternoon nap. The town is very quiet at night, but this facility, with its thick walls and double insulated glass, ensures absolute tranquility. I can recommend this place very highly, and Jairo is a treasure, a scholar and a gentleman, and knowledgeable about everything going on in town and its amenities. He goes above and beyond. If I could give him especially a rating out of 10, it would be 11. I enjoyed this hotel/spa, and left truly rested and ready to take on the Meseta. Joaquin"

AC Hotel Palencia by Marriott

AC Hotel Palencia by Marriott

8/10 Good
"The hotel itself was very good, within 20 minutes walk to the lovely centre and river. The room was spacious as was the bathroom. Two big issues were, there was no control of the Aircon & we were extremely cold overnight in bed with no provision of a blanket, so very uncomfortable. The sound proofing from room to room was poor, it sounded like the adjacent room were having a dance & changing the furniture around in the room. Breakfast was excellent."

Hotel Rural la Concordia

Hotel Rural la Concordia

10/10 Excellent
"This is a wonderful little family run hotel. It has well maintained rustic interiors and a cute internal courtyard with artificial grass, tables and sofas. It’s pet friendly so makes a perfect stop with our dogs as we drive from southern Spain to the ferries or to France on our way home. A simple breakfast is available and cooked to order. The hotel has a restaurant across the road and the food was amazing. I had the best entrecôte steak in years. If the restaurant is closed (they have limited opening in the winter) then a smaller menu is available in the restaurant itself. We will be back."

Hotel Santa Coloma del Camino

8/10 Good
"This is more of a guest house than a hotel, the couple who runs it are super nice but don't speak english - so have your Spanish ready! We only stayed for one night, it met our needs. The breakfast was really nice!"
