Hotel Silken Ciudad de Vitoria

"Close to the cathedral and the Arch of Santa Maria. Also many bars within these areas for eating out or inside with pintxos dishes. Cathedral lit up at night so very good to sit outside with a beer and some pintxos. The hotel rooms are well equipped. The only problem is trying to check in. There is an area with is narrow outside the reception, but when my husband parked to check in, I stayed in the car and it appears to be a thoroughfare for other vehicles, so one fella tried to push through and was gesticulating for me to move, which I couldn't. Then another woman came and got out the car and spoke loudly in Spanish for me to move. I said I cannot understand, so she signalled for me to phone for my husband and move. Is this not an area for to check in, not sure?. I was annoyed with the problems I had while waiting to be checked in so they should have a particular area to park."

"Great apartments. Loads of space and really well equipped. Being over 60 we struggled a bit initially with the online registration process, but fortunately there was someone on hand at reception to guide us. Welcome pack with water and milk was a nice touch. try and ask for a room at the back of the hotel as the main road is quite noisy at the front from early morning."

"Lovely parador and location. Friendly efficient reception staff. Unfortunate interaction with one member of staff at the bar who seemed unwilling to engage with people would could not speak Spanish."

"We landed at this hotel after our VRBO fell out (confirmed reservation from VRBO, host said they rejected as full so we had to scramble). Very clean and well appointed. Price was a bit high due to the eclipse but VRBO covered the difference so it didnt matter much to us. The one challenge is that you'll def need wifi or phone service to check in (my french service wasnt cooperating). Great location and beautiful old building. Recommended!"

"Building and frontage is looking a bit tired, rooms, parking and reception were fine. More of a business hotel, but easy to get a cab into town and the bus back. Breakfast was good, but the eggs were pre-cooked and cold, every day. Coffee and OJ was excellent."
Hotel Dolarea

"We had a brief single night stop over at Hotel Dolorea. Booked through Expedia, which seemed to cause some confusion for the staff upon arrival but after some investigation by the staff our booking was found. We booked a shared room for a family of four. Room was air conditioned which was a welcome relieve from the near 40C outside. Room was spacious with a very generous sized bathroom, beds were comfy and water was in the mini fridge. There was no kettle in the room. Room/hotel were accessed using a key code which worked well when returning from an evening meal. A bonus is the private parking in the hotels subterranean car park for 10 euros a night. All in all a good experience, staff were friendly and helpful. Beasain is a delightful town for an evening stroll with some interesting historical features."
