"Great stay at &Here in Tokyo. The hotel is wonderfully maintained. We especially enjoyed the onsen on the 14th floor where I could relax in the bathe, then shower and get completely ready thanks to all the toiletries provided. The staff are polite and check-in is quick and automated. It is located near the train station too, that goes directly to Narita in approx 50 mins. It is right across the street from Ueno Park and in the middle of all the hot shopping and food spots One tip, if you walk (which we recommend) or taxi to the Skytree Tower (another recommendation and well worth the cost), in that area (Asakusa) there is wonderful shopping (especially kitchenware) and it is less expensive than the hot spot shopping near our hotel. It is also less crowded. Also, I do not recommend purchasing the breakfast buffet at the hotel. We did for one morning at a cost of Y1,800/$11USD and we regretted it. The food choices are minimal, the food was not replenished in a timely fashion. I had to request a few items be replenished. It was not like the buffet type breakfast we had enjoyed at 3 other hotels in Japan at the same price. The cafe is nice to have a cup of coffee though. Overall, I good stay!"

"Staff was excellent, they were polite, professional and friendly. The onsen was great, well tended, clean and friendly to tourists (however, they will not allow those with tattoos to enter). The hotel in the heart of Ueno, a block or so from Ueno Station, and in the middle of food and shopping areas. The room was larger than some of the other hotel rooms we stayed at and could fit 2 individuals and luggage without too much of a hassle. The issues I encountered: The socket in the bed didn't work, the lamp on the bed could be turned on to the lowest setting or it spazzed out, and the bathroom ergonomics were suuuuper uncomfortable (I have a bruise on my knee as proof of how odd the experience of getting in and out of the restroom was). The bigger concerns were more security based: Anyone from the street level can gain access to the guest levels, and anyone can have wifi access regardless of guest status."

TOKYO CITY VIEW HOTEL TABATA-STATION

"The room is modest, which is what I expected. That said, perfect for my purposes as a solo traveller. Clean, functional, well situated. The fitness centre is a few weights, weight machines, rubber bands, and mats. Two huge pluses: the nearness of Tabata metro station, and the varied and excellent breakfasts. Oh, and the availability of a drinks machine which provided hot or cold coffee, tea or water any time of the day or night. Tokens to supplement your drinks and food arrangements were a nice touch, too. I even used the bath my final night. For light sleepers, be forewarned there will be noise from the station next door. It’s impossible to escape except if you have noise cancelling headphones. Me, I eventually got used to it. Since this is Tokyo, which has a fantastic if somewhat bewildering array of transit options, I suspect it would be difficult to find a noise proof hotel in the city. Be that as it may, I would return to this hotel."
