"A great view of the lake was a wonderful plus. Our room was on the third floor, which made our view spectacular, but there are no elevators. We saw this in three of the hotels we stayed in on this trip. This is an interestingly designed hotel with much potential. But it needs some TLC."

"My wife and I loved our stay at the Lighthouse. The location is perfect for getting anywhere in town on foot. We also used the sauna for one day and it was wonderful once it got hot. Accommodations in the lighthouse are typical of a studio apartment and really everything you'll likely need if only staying for a few days. The grounds of the property are really well maintained and architecturally interesting. Communication with owners was simple. I would definitely recommend the lighthouse or any of their other properties to any friends who are travelling to Grand Marais. Just a great trip!"

"Our room was very nice and appeared to be recently updated. This is a “self service” kind of place so there is no maid service during your stay. There is a number you can call if you need anything. It is a great location right across from the harbor so you can walk to everything in downtown Grand Marias. I would request a second floor room next time for better views of the harbor."
