"Great place, great staff, comfortable rooms and beautiful setting. My only issue would be the interior does not match the exterior charm. They have lost an opportunity to make a charming interior in the main entrance, bar and rooms but have instead brought in cheesy carpet, walls that feel carpeted and just overall dated look that hides the charm of the building"

"Stayed here several times now. Our room this time was clean but very tired and needing updating. Had dinner and breakfast in the newly renovated dining room which is lovely. Food good and reasonably priced. Lounge bar is always a great place to chill or meet people. Staff all very helpful as usual. Lovely walks either way down the canal towpath."

"Lovely big room with ensuite facilites. Very nice crisp white bedding & soft, white towels. Breakfast was good & we had a lovely evening meal on one of the nights. The staff were friendly. Certain parts of the hotel would benefit with a freshen up but I guess that's down to finances and we still had a lovely time. Slightly confused by the breakfast times as they were different to the website which stated Saturday & Sunday breakfast was until 10.00am when it was actually 9.30am. This was our second visit, though it's quite a few years since our last stay, and we would return in the future."
