It was completely renovated and has everything you need. We loved our stay. The road up to the house is quite windy, but if you take your time, it is fine. As so many guests have said, Christa and Pascal were perfect hosts being attentive and friendly, in fact totally charming, but ensuring that we had total privacy. Yes, the casita is attached, but we weren’t aware of the owners at all and were very happy playing our music and getting on with winding down! The house is a traditional farm house and doesn't have a lot of modern comforts, but it's perfect for a comfy, peaceful escape from the modern world We had a comfortable and happy stay, the pool is a highlight, it was great and we had a lot of fun there. It is a bit remote, there is a nearby service station with some limited food and drink options if you're desperate, but you will need to drive to explore....

"Casa Assilah is a really lovely property situated (more or less) at the top end of the beautiful Spanish mountain town of Cutar. It is fairly remote although a 10 minute drive away you'll find a bigger town with a really decent supermarket and petrol station (you drive through this town each day). It also has bars etc, but we didn't use them. From the main road near to Velez-Malaga the drive to Cutar will take around 20/25 minutes due to the twisting mountain roads and Road Calming measures....

"Two families travelled together, the property was exactly as advertised, large, well equipped and in a rural location. Don’t be confused with nearest beach being on the coast as this was not the case, to get to the sea it was a 45 minute drive. It was extremely hot when we were there and although all rooms were equipped with fans the bedrooms may have benefited from having air con, however having said that mosquito nets at the window meant you could leave shutters and windows open all night....
