"Melfi is a really interesting mediaeval town dominated by a huge castle.We stayed two nights in Casa Isabela, which is perfectly situated half way between the station (we travel by train) and the historic centre. It is very comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast is provided on a self service basis, which we found flexible and convenient. Both Melfi and this accommodation are highly recommended. "

"Good panorama. Parking is available , a RARE commodity in a mountain town. The bed not very comfortable. The cereal breakfast for kids was stale. We did get a tour of the museum, and got to see a thorn from Jesus crown of thorns which was brought back by crusaders."

"Our extended family of 8 spent a lovely week here in July 2022. The setting is peaceful and quiet, surrounded by woods and with wonderful views across the valley. "We booked a room, showed up before checkin time and they were not operating yet for the season. Mistakes happen, so we weren’t too upset as we found a nearby room at Hotel Portobello . The groundskeeper told us to get a refund thru Expedia. Expedia contacted the hotel, the hotel denied our refund. They said we didn’t cancel within the cancelation time frame?? This place is such a scam. I do not recommend unless you want to risk losing your money. "
