"The location was superb. The River Taw is literally across the road, as is the excellent Barnstaple museum. The room was beautiful and the public areas are smart"

"We had a couple of maintenance issues with the bathroom. The shower holder was loose, and the lighting was minimal, only 1 of the 3 bulbs were working. As a result of the poor lighting, the cleaning staff failing to clean the shower properly. Due to the lack of maintenance staff in the evening, I assisted in the replacement of one of the bulbs, as the concierge would have needed a step ladder to do it. However, despite these challenges, we had a great time, the staff were exceptional, very friendly and helpful, and the biggest plus for us was they were pet friendly. The night concierge was particularly friendly and extremely generous toward our Border Collie, Bodger, who in turn appreciated all the treats. With a bit more investment in the fabric of the building, both internally and externally, the proprietor will have a great little business on their hands."

"We had a very pleasant stay at the Woodford Bridge Country Club. The properties were well equipped and the beds were comfortable. We were surprised with the impressive internet speed. Having the playground and swimming pool right nearby makes this the perfect place for families with young kids."

"Would return to the North Devon resort. Very friendly and welcoming staff amd nothing was too much trouble. Apartment was clean and tidy and provided for small comforts such as teabags, coffee and milk. Very nice stay amd wish i would have stayed longer to enjoy the complex more. "

"Just come home from a short stay with my daughter at The Royal Hotel. We were upgraded to a lovely suite when we arrived. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful.The room was amazing and very clean. I had the best night sleep. There was a kettle in the room, along with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits, which My daughter loved. We dined in the restaurant at dinner time. The food was lovely. So much to choose from. We also had breakfast which I cannot fault. The staff that served us were very friendly and worked really hard. There was a little car park opposite the hotel which was free. There were quite a few spaces when we arrived. We really enjoyed our stay even though it was very short. We will def return to the hotel in the future. "
