Apollonia Απολλωνία, Sifnos. The biggest festival of all is that of the patron saint of the island, Panagia Chrysopigi, celebrated on Ascension Day, attended by many people from all over the island and beyond. In the afternoon of the day before, the miracle icon of Zoodochou Pigis (the Life-Giving Spring) is ‘transported’ from the home of the ‘panigiras’ and the festival procession, with the clergy and the faithful, follows the path to the Holy Church of Agios Georgios in Kamares where the liturgy is held. Then the clergy, with the ‘panigiras’ carrying the icon, board the ferry that each year on this day adds the sacred rock of Chrysopigi to its route from Piraeus. The ship does not carry the believers because disembarkation is potentially dangerous. The crowd of believers, local people and visitors, take the road to Chrissopigi where the arrival of the icon is greeted with great enthusiasm, and the celebrations are honoured by music of the Coast Guard band.

"The was a residence not a hotel. The location is off the beaten path but the owners made it easy to find it by meeting us at a crossroad, after that it was easy to find. The location offered a breathtaking view of Platis Gialos bay and beach and was withing minutes of the beach. It was also 10 minutes from the biggest town on Sifnos (Appolonia). "The property is amazing. The house is situated in the hills overlooking the ocean and mountains which gives it a spectacular view. The house is very clean with daily cleaning and laundry service. The host is a very gracious and nice lady who personally provides a traditional Greek breakfast daily. I highly recommend this house"

"This so called villa was dirty , not well kept. No air conditioning. The property was dangerous to drive to. It was out of the way and near a heli port. The location noted on Expedia of Platis Yialos was not accurate. It was no where near it. The villa requested we wire transfer the funds to hold the property months before so there would be no recourse. We left and found rooms elsewhere. Terrible. Lost out deposit of 130o. Euros. The villa requested about 3000 euros for five days...

"What a wonderful hotel! I was very excited to stay in this hotel based on all of the reviews I had seen. It surpassed all of them. I had been communicating with the hotel by email before our trip arranging boating trips and dinner reservations. They were amazingly detailed and helpful in their responses and the recommendations were perfect. I highly recommend the Navy Blue boat trip on the Sea Ray. The highlight of our vacation! We were greeted in the parking lot by 3 of the staff to help us get out of the car and inside. The had us have lunch while they finished getting the rooms ready and brought us our keys and walked us to the rooms. Our luggage was already waiting for us. We had a room with the private pool which was amazing and the views are simply breathtaking. Breakfast every morning was a real treat. It's include with the room and simply could not have been more special. We had dinner at their restaurant Breeze and really enjoyed it. From start to finish is was a superb 5 star experience. I can not wait to go back to Milos just to stay in this hotel again. "
