This private modern boutique villa has its own garden, lined with Jasmin and overlooks olive groves with the most amazing view to the Bay of Souda with a spectacular mountain backdrop. The villa is fully equipped, has two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and lounge area. Uniquely positioned with outdoor balconies to the front and side offering both sun and shade day and night. There is private parking, a private garden and shared use of a very large pool. The Villa is located in the village of Kokkino Chorio (named Red Village on account of the fertile soil) and made famous by the film Zorba the Greek, this location offers a great mix of peace, quiet but no so remote that you need to drive for a meal or drink. The local Taverna and minimarket are only a stroll away.

Local villages of Plaka and Drapanos are nearby offering an assortment of tavernas and mini-markets and some local farmers selling their produce of honey, wine, raki, fruits and vegetables as well as olive oil of course! The superb beach resort of Almyrida with it's excellent restaurants, low key nightlife is less than 7 mins away by car. Kalyves is a further 5 mins round the bay, again with an excellent range of restaurants and shops. Both resorts offer Blue Flag accredited beaches and water sports. You can even learn to Scuba Dive, wind surf or snorkel. Cycling hire, car and motor bike hire available to get around the Island. Taxi service available also!

Relax in the sun!

A very nice villa with a small garden and a pool which you share with 4 other villa’s. Enough privacy and a few places to chill. It’s clean and all you need for a good time is there. Mini market and a good place to get traditioneel Greek food is a few minuten walk.

Great place with amazing views!

We had such a wonderful time in this fabulous place. It was just perfect with 2 large balconies overlooking the sea and the mountains- We had beautiful sunsets and equally good breakfast views. Well equipped property with great pool, lovely village with mini market and taverna very nearby. Hosts provided detailed instructions and good communication

The villa was very very nice. Hosts were exceptional. Nice beach nearby. Pool was lovely. Several eating places close also. Go to the one on the side of the cliff just down the road. Sunset was amazing.

Lovely stay at Villa Victoria!

From the moment we arrived at the Villa, we felt welcomed. There were towels and slippers prepared, as well as a toiletry basket of anything we could need. The property was very clean as well. Jim and Suzanne were extremely communicative and helped us through directions when we first arrived. Highly recommend!

Modern Cretan villa

Villa absolutely delightful, well appointed, comfortable, spotlessly clean. Views stunning. Pool excellent, but we were surprised to find it was shared with 4 other villas in a small development. Not explained in on line listing; the neighbouring Villa Venus, also on vrbo, is up front about this.

Relaxing break.

Wonderful location with amazing views . A very well equipped villa located in a lovely village close to great beaches with lots of great Tavernas . The villa was spotless on arrival and has everything we needed for our stay . Even in the current heatwave we always had shade and a cool breeze and an amazing view. We will definitely return . Thanks to James and Suzanne for theyre great communication throughout .

A Perfect Place

Villa Victoria is perfect with fantastic views, wonderfully quiet in the peaceful village of Kokkino Chorio. It is an easy drive from the airport; a car is essential. The Villa is spotlessly clean, decorated and furnished to a high standard with everything you will need. There was a bottle of wine, beer, honey and milk in the fridge, a very welcome surprise. The Villa’s outstanding quality is the layout with the bedrooms on the ground floor giving direct access to the garden or the pool. The living space and open kitchen is on the first floor with two balconies, one facing south and one facing west. Both balconies have fabulous views across Souda Bay. The pool is great, especially for a morning swim. We always seemed to have the pool to ourselves. Ioannis Taverna is a few minutes’ walk, serving authentic Cretan food, with very friendly service and live music on Sunday evenings. There are two more very good restaurants in Drapanos which is ten minutes drive from Kokkino Chorio, We made many picturesque excursions with fabulous views into the mountains, visiting villages, monasteries, chapels, the ancient site of Aptera and finding great restaurants Two great restaurants we found in the mountains are Tzitziphia in Tzitzifes near Frés and Ntounias in Drakona. Both restaurants cook on open cook on open fires! We had a wonderful and peaceful time in Villa Victoria. It is ideally situated for expeditions into Eastern Crete. We highly recommend Villa Victoria. We will return.

Villa confortable avec une vue magnifique

C'est la 2e fois que nous logions dans cette villa. Elle est spacieuse et dispose d'une vue magnifique sur la baie de Souda. Tous les soirs nous avons pu profiter d'un superbe coucher de soleil, confortablement installés dans les canapés d'une des terrasses. Suzanne and Jim sont très disponibles, ils répondent rapidement et se soucient du bien être des vacanciers qu'ils accueillent. La piscine est grande, et même si elle est partagée avec les quelques autres logements, elle est suffisamment grande pour ne pas que l'on soit entassés. On est d'ailleurs assez souvent seuls dans la piscine. Le logement est équipé de climatiseurs, ce qui est très agréable avec la chaleur. Pour ceux qui prévoiraient de faire beaucoup de visites, regardez d'abord la localisation, car elle est dans une zone montagneuse, et on peut rejoindre les voies rapides en 15/20 mn.

Maison spacieuse et confortable au calme

Maison très bien agencée, salon spacieux avec 2 terrasses / balcons et superbes vues. Environnement très calme dans un petit village de montagne, mais avec taverne et supérette à pied. La piscine est partagée mais toujours un moment pour nager seul. La salle de bain est un peu trop petite pour une famille et quelques ustensiles de cuisine en plus seraient les bienvenus. Propriétaire très sympathique et réactif. La maison est un peu excentrée des axes principaux donc voiture nécessaire. Très reposant.

Tolles Haus mit vielen Balkonen

Wir waren im April in diesem schönen Haus und haben uns über jeden Sonnenstrahl auf den beiden Balkonen oder im Gartenbereich gefreut. Je nach Tageszeit gab es immer ein sonniges Plätzchen. Die Anlage ist sehr gepflegt. Das Doppelbett ist schmal (140?) und hat nur eine Matratze und eine große Decke. Das war nichts für unsere alten Knochen und das einzige, was uns gestört hat für 5 Sterne. Ansonsten ein perfekter Ausgangsort für viele tolle Ausflüge mit dem Auto. Unser Lieblingslokal Eleonoras Taverne ist nur ein Ort weiter.

Schöne Villa mit Blick auf das Meer

Die Villa ist sehr gut eingerichtet und man kann den Tag auf dem Balkon, der Terrasse oder im Garten direkt am Pool genießen. Einzig das Badezimmer ist nicht optimal (Duschvorhang, Schräge). Das Haus liegt sehr ruhig am Ende einer Sackgasse und ist umgeben von Olivenbäumen. Leider gab es im Ort kein Restaurant oder eine Bar, so dass man immer einige Kilometer zum Essen fahren musste. Einkaufen konnte man im kleinen Supermarkt in unmittelbarer Nähe. Nach Chania, Rethymno oder zur Imbros Schlucht braucht man jeweils schon eine Stunde und zum nächsten Strand nach Almyrida ca. 15 Min. Ohne Auto geht also gar nichts.

Sehr schöner Urlaub

☆☆☆☆☆☆ Der Vermieter hat sich hervorragend um uns gekümmert und war sehr besorgt dass wir einen erholsamen Urlaub verbringen können. ☆☆☆☆☆ Die Lage und dir Aussicht haben eine Top-Lage und entspricht absolut dem Inserat. Die Meersicht ist ausserdem hervorragend. ☆☆☆ Die Küchengeräte müssten ausgetauscht werden.Kochherd konnten wir leider nicht gebrauchen, der Kühlschrank war für unsere Verhältnisse zu hoch eingestellt, die Filterkaffeemaschine war ziemlich verkalkt und der Wassererhitzer war nebst verkalt auch an der Seite aufgerissen aber die Besitzer haben für uns einen neuen Wasserkocher besorgen lassen. ☆☆ Leider nur zwei Sterne für die Sauberkeit im Haus. Aber um die gesamte Villa inkl. dem Swimmingpool war alles Tip-Top und sehr gepflegt. Deswegen leider nur insgesamt 4 von 5 möglichen Sternen.

Top ausgestattet, sauber und ruhig.

Für uns war es traumhaft. Das Haus lässt keine Wünsche offen. Voll klimatisiert, perfekt ausgestattet und zu jeder Tageszeit gibt es einen schattigen Platz auf dem Balkon oder rund ums Haus. Der Pool ist top gepflegt und zur Dorf-Taverne oder zum Mini-Markt sind es zwei Minuten zu Fuß, zum Strand nach Almyrida etwa 5 Autominuten. Das Haus ist sehr empfehlenswert. Wir hatten eine perfekte Woche.

Jolie villa sur les hauteurs d'un petit village Crétois

Jolie maison située pas loin de La Canée avec vue imprenable sur la mer et les montagnes. Situation permettant de visiter l'ouest de l'île. Piscine partagée avec 3 autres maisons qui permet de se rafraichir aux heures chaudes.

Kreta in ruhiger Umgebung erfahren

Eigentliche ein schönes Objekt mit tollem Pool in absolut ruhiger Lage. Das Haus kommt leider etwas in die Jahre und bräuchte mal wieder eine Auffrischung. Aktuell ist der Preis noch ok. Die Villa ist komplett ausgestattet, Klimaanlagen in allen wichtigen Räumen. Das einzige was man als Familie vermissen könnte, wäre ein Geschirrspüler. Wenn alle Häuser ggf. auch mit mehreren Kindern belegt sind, könnte es am Pool sicherlich etwas unruhiger werden. Wir waren nur mit einem älteren Ehepaar in der Anlage, so dass es perfekt war. Sehr schöner Blick vom Loungebereich über die Bucht. Moskitoschutz abends nicht vergessen! Auto ist absolutes muss, da nichts zu Fuß mal eben zu erreichen ist. Für den täglichen Bedarf gibt ein in Laufdistanz (3min) einen Minimarkt im Ort. Der nächste größere Ort ( Almyrida ) mit einem kleinen Sandstrand und Beachbars ist mit dem Auto ca. 5min entfernt.

Schönes Ferienhaus mit traumhaftem Panoramablick

Wir hatten einen sehr entspannten Aufenthalt in dem schönen Haus im Bergdorf Kokkino Chorio, eine Dreiviertelstunde Autofahrt vom Flughafen Chania entfernt. Wir haben uns nur selten im Inneren des Hauses aufgehalten, denn es gibt zwei Balkone, die rund um die Uhr Schatten spenden, eine kleine Terrasse mit vier Liegen und einen großen und sehr sauberen Pool, den sich insgesamt fünf Einheiten teilen. Der Blick auf die Bucht von Souda und das tiefblaue Meer sowie die abendlichen Sonnenuntergänge sind beeindruckend. Die Kommunikation mit unserem Vermieter war sehr gut.

Tolle Lage zwischen Bergen und Meer

Ein schönes Haus mit toller Lage, kurzem Weg mit dem Auto zum Meer sowie nach Chania und Rethymnon. Den Titel "erstaunlich freistehende Villa" finden wir nicht ganz passend, es handelt sich um ein Ensemble von fünf Häusern rund um den gemeinsamen Pool- sind alle belegt, wird es recht trubelig. Auch die Lage ist nicht so ruhig, wie vermutet. Es herrscht ein reges Dorfleben mit laut spielenden Kindern bis in die Nacht und ringsherum wurde auch immer irgendwo gebaut. Alles nicht so schlimm, wenn man sich nicht nach Ruhe sehnt:)! Die Dusche im Haus ist sehr klein (wir sind große Menschen) und das Wasser war morgens leider nur kalt. Ein riesieges Dankeschön an die Vermieter, die in so ungewissen Reisezeiten stets Kontakt gehalten haben und sofort das Geld für unsere erste gebuchte Woche (Flüge wurden abgesagt) erstattet haben!!! Vielen Dank für die nette Korrespondenz!

Beautiful view, nice shared pool, a small house for 3-4 persons, need wheels.

We stayed at this small house for one month in June 2019. Amazing view to Souda Bay and the White mountains! A nice shared pool with 3 other houses. The house seemed smaller than in the description and accommodates max 3-4 persons without problems. All the beds were short (195cm) so that is a problem for tall people. Even the " king size bed" was only 195cm x 140cm, which was a big disappointment!! The very strong smell of mold in the kitchen cupboards by the sink could cause problems for people sensitive of odors or people with allergies or asthma. You need wheels to get to the nearest beaches.

Three Geriatrics

This property and location is simply stunning. The view from each of the two balconies over Souda Bay is something to behold. The pool, although shared with 4 other villas was spotlessly clean and was hardly ever in use by the other guests. The villa itself is kitted out to a high standard. The village of Kokkino Chorio is quiet, but has a small grocery store within 400 yards, a taverna within 300 yards and another taverna within a 10 minute stroll. A 7-10 minute drive takes you to Plakka with many tavernas and a further 3 minutes takes you to a superb beach with a multitude of restaurants. A car (and satnav) is essential. We were lucky enough to have wall to wall sunshine with temperatures of 28-30 C If there was one draw back, it was the drive from the airport, along very windy roads after you leave the "motorway". Due to air traffic control problems and our arguments with Google Maps, we didn't reach the villa until 3 am, but we had pre-arranged with the extremely helpful owner (Mr Barrie) for a welcome pack of water, wine and charcuterie, so things weren't all bad ! Would we go back again ? You bet !
