Overall really impressed. This was a very cheap hotel compared to others, which was perfect for us as we never stay long in room. Room was small and was being decorated but beds were comfy, our own bathroom was great. Location was amazing Stairs were very steep and narrow - but again for us who a fit these were not an issue. I would highly recommend this hotel if you want a cheap option Also, staff were amazing

Jim was very helpful and a friendly face that will assist you. They are in the process of renovating the rooms, painting, and upgrading the floors to laminate flooring and improving the bathrooms as of mid September 2026. My room was #14 at the back of the hotel with a courtyard view and very quiet. Also had a small fridge which was quite nice to have. As mentioned in previous reviews, steep stairs to climb, but thats they way Dutch homes are built, so you are fore-warned. I travel light so the stairs don't bother me. This is a great option for an Amsterdam stay in the late season and I would stay here again. Bedankt Jim!!!

The staff here was super friendly and helpful and were the highlight of my stay for sure. Unfortunately, the water pressure in the showers were horrible, and barely functional. If you get one of the larger rooms it can be quite comfortable, however the smaller ones are quite claustrophobic. I frequently was hitting my head on objects on the wall. The rooms became quite hot with only a small desk fan to try and cool down. They were also doing some renovations while I stayed which was a bit inconvenient. The hotel is located near a metro line which can quickly get you into the centre and also a tram line, aiding in exploring.

Room was tiny. Hotel staff was nice. Shower had no curtain and made the floor soaked everytime it was used. Sink was tiny. The room had no place to put bags so we had to climb over our stuff to get into bed.

Hotel Kap is in a good location, with helpful and kind staff, I stayed for 3 nights on the ground floor, the room was very spacious, had a working refrigerator, hot showers, gopd restaurants near by in a quiet neighborhood, the only is was a few bugs flying around, i was bit by mosquito, I would recommend the hotel, no elevator.

A short city stay.

I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We were satisfied with our room with 3 single beds! I think their bed sheets are vegan/nature treated. The bathroom is spacious. Thanks especially to Mr. Front Desk Man. You helped us a lot with infos about going to the city.

We got this hotel last minute and we’re scared it was a bit too much out of the city centre, we were so pleased that there was a metro opposite the hotel which was convenient for us to easily and quickly get to different places in Amsterdam whilst saving our legs up for a long day of walking.The hotel was amazing, the beds were comfy and always clean thanks to the amazing staff. When we greeted by the manager he was very welcoming and friendly to us and made us laugh aswell after a stressful day. Overall great hotel and would fully recommend

Dylan was very helpful upon checkin. However, he did not arrive until after 10am. Two separate websites (Hotel Kap themselves and Expedia) specified that we would be able to leave our luggage beginning at 9am prior to check in. We were told they do not store luggage. Dylan was exceptional in going above and beyond to store our luggage and deliver it to our room when questioned regarding posted policies. Rooms are cleanly but tight. Well located for Heineken. Easy metro ride to Centraal Station.

It’s more like an old hostel with private bathrooms. The beds were comfortable and clean, and although the bathroom was clean, it was quite old and had some mold. The room also had a noticeable musty smell. As expected, there was no air conditioning only a fan but it was manageable. One thing that made me uncomfortable was that there were no staff onsite overnight, and the room door couldn’t be locked from the inside. It could only be accessed with a key card from the outside, which made me feel a bit uneasy at night while staying with my two young daughters. The staff were friendly, and the hotel is located on a quiet street, close to a supermarket and within a short walk of Action. Just be aware that they do not offer luggage storage or luggage service.
