"Lovely, clean property. Great central location for visiting other areas. There was a regular bus service through the village and a co-op. Check before you go to the pubs or hotel for food, they either dont do it, or it's only served on certain days or times. Don't presume their websites are up to date. The chip shop is nice, but very busy. "

"Check in was really quick & simple. Completely milk & biscuits were provided. There was everything we needed for a self catering stay. Kitchen well equipped and cleaning supplies were also provided. Nice for a family getaway."

"Great location and very modern. I like a traditional feel more than the modern but it had everything one needed. However, there was less than 1 role of toilet paper between both bathrooms combined and no soap or shampoo, napkins, paper towels, dish brushes or clothes wash so come prepared. Also, the garbage outside was filled to overflowing before we arrived and we were unable to clean up our kitchen. Apparently, per the neighbor, this is an ongoing problem. The beds were a little uncomfortable....

"The house was mostly comfortable but needs some upkeep. The communication with the host was a challenge and they did not reply to most messages (even an acknowledgment of receipt would be okay). One of the showers we could not adjust the temperature, 2 of the showers had mold. One of the biggest challenges was trying to cook as the cookware is very worn and some of it unusable. It would be nice to have a few basic essentials such as salt and pepper and hand soap upon arrival to get things...

"Overall excellent accommodation and we felt very welcome. The only niggle we had was the location relative to the local pub, and the resultant noise. This was not a major problem but is something that would be useful to know about prior to staying at the address. The village itself was wonderful and we enjoyed exploring, we highly recommend the cafe. It was sad to see that everything appears to have already closed down or is struggling. I imagine at one time the village would have been full of...

"Lovely property which the photographs did not do justice! The very large living area meant lots of space for our 10 month old grandson to explore. (A lovely touch was the gift for hi. Left with the welcome pack. What a lovely, generous gesture.) The bedrooms were beautifully furnished and very comfortable. All in all an amazing stay."

"We stayed at the Abbey House for a few nights on our vacation to the UK. It was absolutely wonderful! The location is stunning and the town is so quaint. We wished we would have booked it to stay longer! The host was very communicative and even left little gifts for us upon arrival. We hope that one day we can stay there again."

"We had a lovely time at The Old Smithy. Gail was exceptional with making us feel we were at home. She made sure we had everything we needed. Gail went over and above to ensure we were happy. Adults and children really enjoyed our stay however having tv in the reception rooms downstairs would have been ideal. "We had a lovely stay in this very well equipped and comfortable cottage. It was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Situated in a quiet area within walking distance of Budle Bay, it was easy to get to many places on the coast and we enjoyed a lot of long walks admiring the beaches and scenery, visiting Lindisfarne and even taking a train from Berwick to Edinburgh for the day! We would definitely recommend staying here if you like the quiet countryside in a comfortable self...

"We had a wonderful stay at Settlers lodge. Beautifully decorated and very well equipped! Loved seeing the squirrels around the garden! Set in a great area for walking and exploring. We enjoyed both the local pub and also a takeaway from the nearby pub. Both we would recommend. Cannot wait to come for a return visit . Thanks again!"

"An ordinary looking property but great inside, tastefully done with everything you need, apart from milk for my cup of tea on arrival. Also had to search through the mugs to find ones which weren’t tea stained but a small negative as it was a good, pleasant place to stay. Lovely to sit in the garden and hear the birds singing. My main focus was to visit Holy Island and the causeway is just down the road. Bamburgh and Berwick also good places to visit. Communication/instructions all excellent."

"We loved our stay here. After a horrible nine hour journey we were pretty miserable when we arrived. However, when we saw the cottage we were delighted! The pictures absolutely do not do it justice. It’s well maintained, clean and comfortable. The beds were super comfy too. We were delighted to see the goats out the front the next morning and raced out to chat to them 😀 The owners are really friendly and can’t do enough for you. If we can face the journey again we will be back and for longer! "
