"The Rho Hotel is a Tiny Giant in a very busy city. It is old fashion. Very Old school. The staff were unbelievably gracious. They were helpful in every way. The location of the Rho is ideal for everything we wanted to do in Amsterdam. The metro #52 is a block away. We soon learned that using the 52 to get back To Central Station gave us easy access to any tram, metro, train or ferry. The Rho is steps away from the Dam and many restaurants and pubs. We cannot forget the breakfast which can easily be described as hearty set in a roomy cafe area. The Rho is not the Hilton. It is a very Dutch experience in a perfect location."

"The property couldn’t have been more centrally located. Absolutely 10/10 for location. The first room we had was fine until 4am one day and this awful noise began coming from beneath the sink. Some sort of electrical fuse that was emitting noise. We were moved to another room that was next to the kitchen so that was fine until about 6am when they began prepping for breakfast. Aside from that- it was clean and was adequate for what Americans would expect. Staff was helpful despite the 4am move and from kitchen both responses: we are sorry about that"

"We had a great 2-night stay at the Volkshotel. The staff were always pleasant and very helpful. The ground-floor cafe was nice and very convenient. (Good to know: When we were there, on weekends, the hotel restaurant and cafe only opened for breakfast at 8 a.m. It seems to be an Amsterdam thing as nothing close by was open either.) Because we were heading out on an excursion, we found a place open for coffee closer to our excursion meeting point. I also liked the location of the hotel. It is in an interesting neighbourhood and within easy reach of the metro. When I made our booking I was a little concerned that we would be older than the usual clientele, but I needn’t have worried. The hotel staff make sure all feel welcome. And bonus! We were offered a free upgrade from a cabin to a room with a bathroom. Very nice!"
