"The house is very clean, even with allowing pets. I appreciate that. We had an issue at check-in but it was dealt with immediately. The owners are extremely committed to making your stay the best it can be. The river was up, so it wasn't conducive to kayaking. It went down half way through the week, but we didn't try again. We spent time on the North Shore and explored the state parks. The deck over the river was a great spot for relaxing. The bed is so comfortable. "

The house has everything you could need, is exceptionally clean and well equipped for a family vacation. Check in was easy and everything was ready for us when we arrived, the kitchen and the rest of the house is fully equipped even if you forget something, you don’t have to worry as it will most likely be available for you to use from plates to coffee, it’s all there. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place. Birders, this is located in the bog with great birds waiting right outside your door! Walk down to the bridge and watch herons and beavers near the Whiteface River."

"Lovely cabin in a quiet and private location! Bring what you need for your stay - it's a hike to drive for anything additional. Our stay was so relaxing and we wished it was longer. Hoping to stay here again in the future!"

"The property itself was beautiful- Hunter was a great host. AC had a slight leak in the master but he was quick to communicate with me when I found it. The kayaks, paddle boards, hot tub, game room and every other feature we could use we did (except the boat). My hubby and I will be back on our own for a weekend hideaway! I may have forgotten one of our life jackets there "

"This location was nice for us since it is away from the main areas but close enough to get to everything. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked. My only recommendation would be to put pavers or a sidewalk from the drive to the deck. It wasn’t great walking through wet grass every day. "

"It was perfect for our family. A little out of town for privacy but close enough to Duluth for exploring the city.Our host was great, very responsive when we asked a question. The place had everything we needed. The kitchen was spacious for cooking, the grill worked great for our needs. The games in the basement kept everyone happy and playing late into the evening.We did not use the outside much because it was chilly and lots of bugs-we expected that. But the outside had everything we would have needed.We really liked the big dining room table so we could play games and cards as a family of 10.Everything was great. We would highly recommend the Hermantown Hangout."
