"If you are looking to relax, this is the place. Beautiful view & sound of the ocean. The massage at the spa on premises is life changing. There is also a coffee shop & a restaurant so there is no need to leave this oasis in paradise. "

"We came to Kauai with our son and daughter, their spouses and our 2 granddaughters (20 months and almost 3). The Tiki House was perfect for our family. The upstairs is one big open area, with 3 different sitting areas (couches and chairs) and 2 large tables. Lots of room for the little ones to run around. The location is perfect and we had everything we needed, including a wagon to take all the chairs, towels and toys to the beach. The kitchen is large, with so many cabinets and drawers. Every one is labeled and has every gadget and cooking need you can imagine. Wee did eat most dinners in, due to having the little ones. Our kids got to go out on date-nights and we were able to walk to most places. Everything was as described, but even better. Kauai is magical and we decided this will be an annual trip. We may need a bigger house soon, but if not - this will be the place we stay! Loved the roosters that crow at 5:30 every morning. 5:30 is 8:30 PST, so not a big deal! In short: Clean, spacious, well stocked and comfortable. "

"My family of six had a wonderful stay at the River House. Having access to the beach via the river was one of the reasons we chose this home, and that did not disappoint. Also, I enjoyed meeting Mark and you can tell from your first interaction that he really wants to be involved and help you enjoy his home. He had the kayaks and paddle boards that we had rented there and ready for us to get into the water when we arrived, and his concierge fee to do this for us was not too bad. The fresh, cool, clear water of the river was refreshing and almost each day of our stay we would make the 5 minute paddle to the beach. We enjoyed the freshwater side of the beach but the ocean side is not really a swimming beach (were told by several locals not to go on the ocean side due to this being called “Shark Beach.”) We rented houses on four different Hawaiian islands this trip, and the River House was definitely one of our favorites. I will agree with the other reviews that the dogs are very loud when they get wound up, but having AC in the bedrooms was fantastic, and when we shut the windows and turned in the AC you don’t notice the outside noises. I will also agree with other reviews that there are more rules with this house than any other we stayed at, but that did not hamper our enjoyment of this home. We got good at taking off our shoes before climbing the stairs! If you want an authentic island experience out of the hustle and bustle, I think you will great enjoy Marks place!!"

"Our family of 6 had an absolutely magical time in my most favorite place in all of the Hawaiian islands. This home is well appointed for cooking as well as all beach needs ( towels, snorkel gear, stand up paddle boards, surf boards as well as bikes). The interior is bright clean, comfortable and surrounded by lush tropical plants with tons of orchids. The outdoor shower though was the absolute favorite especially at night with the stars out!We walked to the beach and in to town, close distance to the napali coast, tunnels beach and princeville. This was the perfect place for our family of 6 with 4 teenage kids! "

"We’ve been to the house before and love the location of the house. We were close to beach and able to watch surfers, and Ching Young Village is close. The house has beach umbrella, chairs, boogie boards, and surf boards. The only critique would be that they could use some new beach chairs. We still used the ones they had which are starting to show some wear and tear. There is no A/C, but ocean breeze and the ceiling fans worked well to keep us cool. There was a welcome fruit basket and snacks which was nice touch. I also love the midweek clean. We’ve stayed at this house a few times over the years and love coming back. "

"We had an amazing stay at the little cottage by the beach! My two kiddos loved riding bikes into town for morning treats and walking over to the beach for a swim and beach play. The kitchen table with mountain view was especially gorgeous to see each day! We loved everything about our stay at the cottage. It was clean, child friendly, and very close to beach and town. We would love to come again sometime!"

"The house is in a beautiful location, and it is a very peaceful and serene location. The sound of the River right next to the house was very soothing. House is beautifully maintained, deck is great, kitchen is well set up with utensils for cooking in. Absolutely loved our stay there. The only drawback was the steep stairs to navigate to haul our luggage up to and down from the house. But, as it is a house on poles (as clearly shown in the photos) it was expected. Owner was great to deal with."
