"Very friendly staff. Clean and large room. Fantastic view of the lake from rooms. Very comfortable stay. Tobu bus stop 28 is right out front of the hotel so super easy to get to/from Nikko train stations with luggage; and to many nature sites and hiking trails."

They’ll shuttle you to and from Nikko station to the Ryokan as well as guide you to the bus that takes you to Keyon. falls. In addition, the Ryokan plays calming music in the hallways and reception area. Gift shop is adorable and they add a special touch to putting your name on a plaque visible at the entry way into the Ryokan. We will miss this facility and hope to return again. "

"This property was beautiful, I wish I could have stayed longer. Great kitchen, spa room with bath, everything you needed and everything felt brand new. Location was a bit out of town and was either a bus, taxi or a long walk uphill. This was my favorite property in Japan. I would definitely stay longer next time. "

"Room was great. Clean, full of quality amenities, comfortable bed, cool tech. Nice bath, free drinks in fridge, and tooth brushes, bathroom kits available in bathroom. Not the greatest location — but of a walk to town. Went in off-season (December) and it was hard to find food. The check-in process was confusing and a little annoying. You have to check in via a tablet in the room by filling out some fields, taking a photo, then verify your face on live video through a call centre. "
