"While the hotel is a little outdated, I really enjoyed my stay. Kind staff. The traditional Japanese styled room was big and comfortable, with the expected amenities that come with this kind of room. The bathroom was small and the toilet was slightly wonky, but not big issues. The bath was a good size, and the outdoor onsen area was nice after a long day. Laundry worked well."

"This is a beautiful hotel with great views of the river and countryside. It is quiet and the rooms are very nice. I used the private baths with no waiting. The bar is a great whisky and wine bar. Complimentary ramen was very nice and filling. Other snacks are also given free. Staff were so friendly, and managed around my language barrier with ease and friendliness."

One thing I was surprised about was having to have to buy a towel or other amenities. The private room at that price I believe should have come with a towel or some other amenities. Other than that it’s a great place. And would come again. "

"Akan is an awesome place, and Hanayuuka hotel is a perfect place to stay in it. The lake is literally less than a minute walk from the terrace doors, and so is the cruise ship and motor boat places. The entrance to Kamuy Lumina (a fantastic night show about an ainu legend in the forest) is also very close. There are many dining places and convenience stores nearby, the tourist office is 5 minutes of walk, and the Ainu Village is around 10 minutes of walk. Our rooms very surprisingly big, of course very clean. The place has a playing room for children, laundry room, massage chairs, bike rentals, studio quality photo room, and even a tiny photo museum. I honestly loved our stay here, and want to come back again."
