The entire facility was beautiful. Even though the staff spoke very little English, they were extremely helpful and kind to us. The food at the restaurant was also delicious! The staff there were so amazing and walked us through everything.
No air, no dinner! Lack of fresh air: extreme small room with non-opening windows. Be aware: if you have no reservation for dinner that means you will eat from your backpack in that hotel - no previous information about this fact. Bonus: the staff just did not really care. Of course there are not plenty of restaurants around... Bad experience, very overpriced place!
Wonderful experience. Staff service outstanding. Private bath soothimg. Food met or exceeded expectations in quality, variety, and volume. Room was comfortable Japanese style, with lovely view of canyon and river. Recommend whole-heartedly, although Western guests should strive to understand hotel is very accomodating but Japanese style for beds and meals. That is what we sought and found. Very happy experience.
I really like the location of this hotel/onsen. It's right on the river and you can hear and view it as you soak in the onsen or as you're enjoying tea in your room. The staff tried their best to help us in english. Between that and Google we were able to figure things out. The only disappointment is that meals were included but we were never told that we had to reserve and same day reservations are not permitted. Unfortunately cause I had heard really good things about their restaurant. We had to settle for a meal at the bar which was lacklustre. But otherwise everything was great and yukata as well as all toiletries and slippers are included. Staff is very polite and professional.
