"The property was located in the heart of the town. There were lots of grocery and dining options within walking distance. The beach was a short drive away too. We were able to drive to many scenic places like Akiyoshido Cave and the quasi national park from there.
The house was spacious and very clean. The neighborhood was quiet other than during the elementary school’s break time when little children could be heard playing. The house was also well stocked, though I wish there could’ve been soup/ rice bowls, a kitchen scissors and a rice cooker. I was also slightly confused by the check in procedure but thankfully the Rakuten team responded soon enough to help us with it. Overall, it was a very pleasant 1 week stay and we enjoyed the place very much. "

"Clean, spacious, with everything provided, including detailed instructions for appliances. Far better than a standard short-stay rental. We were in Hagi on the first hot day of the year, and the AC was fast, effective and a lifesaver - in both living and sleeping areas. The location was ideal - walking distance to the core sights and a 5-minute walk to the central welcoming center and an electric bike rental, which was key on a hot day for zipping around the atmospheric streets. The laundry was also great - easy to use, detergent provided, and a huge drying rack plus perhaps 2 dozen hangars. We were able to quickly do a week’s worth of laundry and get out to see sights while it dried. And dedicated parking. And it is quiet and private, with a patio and tatami mat room to relax in. It was all modern and lovely - cannot recommend highly enough."
"Staff were very kind. The Kaiseki dinner was superb.
Although we did not use the public bath, the private bath reserved was great and our bodies felt less sore after a long dip. "
"I loved my experience staying at KAI. The Osen was lovely; there was also cold sake, green tea, ice cream, hot tea, and many other beverages for guests to enjoy after using the Osen. The library was quiet to do some work, with snacks and drinks also available. The breakfast and dinner were good. Overall, my stay was terrific. The staff was courteous and attentive. "
"Hagi Yado no Tomoe is an elegant traditional inn. While the outside is pleasant and clean, once inside you will enter a rare and elegant world. The facilities are immaculate and it is clear every decision is made with exceptional taste. The staff are polite, extremely kind and respectful of privacy. The rooms are gorgeous, and the multiple course Kaiseki dinners are delicious and incredibly beautiful. They also have a lovely selection of local pottery on display for sale. Today, upon departure, I did their sake brewery tour. The guide and staff driving couldn’t have been nicer, and the sake master was so down to earth and kind. I also enjoyed a sake tasting and purchased a small bottle to take home. After the tour they recommended a lovely place for lunch, making sure I knew where to catch my but to return to Yamaguchi City. While in Hagi I particularly enjoyed my visit to Toukouji Temple and the surrounding area. My stay at Hagi Yado no Tomoe was delightful in every way. I hope to return."
