"Crete is gorgeous! We did so much exploring, we didnā€™t spend as much time at the apartment as we thought we would. The space is small, but clean and well furnished. The private pool and surrounding views are absolutely phenomenal. I would only take off one star off due to the heat. The owner (who is lovely) has a small indoor A/C unit set it that did help, but we were there in August and it just could not keep up. We would return despite this, but in a cooler month. "

The "Golden Beach" is in walking distance as well as some very good and affordable restaurants. We also visited beaches in the South of Crete, which are just a 40 min. drive away. It was within walking distance of the main shopping area and we never had trouble finding parking within 150m of the entrance.
