"Very clean room. Public areas also very clean. Grounds well maintained. Excellent parking facilities. Staff very welcoming and extremely helpful. I asked for packed lunch instead of breakfast as I was leaving early. This was perfect. Very friendly hotel."

"Stag Cottage was a wonderful base for Munro walking in the Achnasheen area. It is ideally placed within fabulous mountains, with good road access and close to excellent local facilities in Lochcarron. The cottage provided comfortable and spacious accommodation that suited the needs of a tired and wet group of friends for a week in June. Its clothes drying capabilities were sorely tested but came out with flying colours. The kitchen facilities were excellent and the lounge area was huge but, with the benefit of an open fire, was cosy. Richard the gamekeeper and caretaker next door was helpful when we arrived in terms of explanation and friendly throughout. Overall, this a great find and excellent value for money."

"This is a great property with loads of character and staying here is a real traditional Highlands experience. It comfortably accommodates the maximum capacity and the kitchen is large and well equipped. The only slight drawback was that some of the mattresses could perhaps do with replacing and ideally there would be another walk in shower - although equally having the traditional baths was good. The location is good - a bit of a drive to most places but then you expect that in this area and the remoteness is part of the appeal. If you can fill it, the property is also very good value (although it may be somewhat less so if you visit in winter due to the electricity costs)"

"We had a lovely time. And was so happy to be able to take a bath and relax. Our only issue was small biting gnats that were somehow in the house even though we kept doors and windows closed. But now we know to take spray as we had the same problem at the Dunvegan castle. Just wasn’t something we factored in. This was a nice and quiet space to rest in and we appreciate the hospitality of the host! We would recommend for sure."

"A wonderful place to stay! It has everything you need. The host is very helpful if you have any questions. The location is extremely convenient. The local amenities are excellent. I would definitely stay here again."

"The hostel was clean and comfortable. Room and bathrooms were very clean. Kitchen was well stocked. The view from the panoramic lounge was amazing and it was well stocked with board games and toys for the children to play with. Torridon is a short walk away with a general store and there is a lovely cafe nearby too. "

"Loved our stay here and hopefully will be back. Much more spacious than appears in photos, and it well stocked and equipped- really liked the generous separate mudroom /utility space. The location is superb for walkers and wild landscape lovers and the sheltered rear garden is a lovely sun trap (even this summer!)"
