The welcome pack was a lovely surprise and the cottage was so peaceful but also handy for exploring York and the surrounding area. Communication from the owners was brilliant and whilst we didn’t need anything, it was nice to know they were near if we did. "Th Smithy is a fantastic property for 2 people. Very quietly located & less than 5 mins walk to the bus stop into York. Designer outlet only 5 mins drive away. Very clean. Thank you very much for the wine, fresh bread, tea, coffee & biscuits. Would definitely recommend & would stay again."

"My partner and I (and our dog) stayed at Gemma’s lovely cottage and we couldn’t be happier! Communication was prompt, the cottage was immaculate when we arrived and fully equipped, and the village of Burythorpe was beautiful! Highly recommend popping into the pub across the street as it was lovely. Gemma also provided several great recommendations in the guest book and we are sad that we couldn’t get to everything in our weekend stay! Would definitely come back, thanks Gemma!"

Everthing you need and very cosy, but with plenty of space for 5 of us. Grratvto come home to after busy days in York. Thanks for having us!"

"We really enjoyed our stay here, the property was well equipped with everything you needed for a comfortable stay. I do think the property does need updating a little and it would have been nice if the hot tub had been filled on arrival, the hot tub also needs a cover as unless you like cold feb rain wouldn’t have been enjoyable. "A wonderful place to stay that's close to the city centre but in a very peaceful location. The cottage is immaculate with a great kitchen and bathroom plus comfortable bedrooms. Parking was readily available on the next street so no issues there and 2 minutes away from a bus stop."
