"The Golden Sands Hotel was a great wee stay. It was clean and in a safe enough area. Its location was just beside the Grand hotel which is a good landmark for getting off the tram. Jim the host was very nice and friendly, and went out his way to research food options for a gallstone diet. We would stay again. "

"After going through the front gate that should have locked I came by a dumpster full of stinking garbage. The small courtyard was filthy. The stairs going up to the rooms needed a good cleaning and refurbishing. After opening the door to the room I was surprised how small it was, 8’x8’? The shared bathroom, toilet paperless, was dingy and poorly lit. Some photoshop trickery must have been used for the pics of the place. "Ran by a wonderful couple who are really friendly and accommodating. The lodge is in a beautiful location and the facilities and room are lovely. Breakfast was included and we were asked beforehand what we wanted so it would be ready for the time we requested. And it tasted wonderful. Me and my girlfriend have visited here twice now and I'd greatly recommend a stay here."

"Fabulous place to stay. Away from hustle and bustle but near enough to walk or take tram. (Tram stops at top of the road) Julie and kevin lovely hosts, friendly but not intrusive, just right balance. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Great breakfast with good selection. Very accommodating when my 11 year old grsndson didn't want cooked breakfast and happily made him sausage sandwiches 😊 nothing was too much trouble. Was just perfect !!"

"I was very shocked when we arrived at the property. The grass was up to our knees and there was so much rubbish just chucked on the grounds around the house. To be honest we didn’t stay, we got a taxi and came back on the train back to Grange over Sands. "
