"Check in was smooth and quick and it was nice to be able to check in early because our room was available. Staff very polite friendly and helpful. Room was a good size, plenty of storage, clean and I liked the Jo Loves products. Turn down service was lovely. It was quite noisy from the road outside though which was not good. Windows should be better. Dinner and drinks at the hotel were great couldn’t recommend them enough. Our dinner was delicious. Well cooked, fresh and full of good flavour. I had pork chop with black pudding crochets my husband had the lamb with champ. Breakfast was disappointing. Ordered food was slow and not as good as other hotels I’ve been to where I haven’t paid as much! The whole breakfast should be as a buffet style as this is what we prefer. I stayed at the Grand Central Hotel previously and they did an excellent breakfast with a quieter room. Would recommend that hotel more, if available, than the Fitzwilliam."

"While this hotel is priced at the high end, general condition and location are major plus points. Staff are friendly without being over the top. Food was good and priced reasonably. Would encourage people who stay in the hotel to wander around the as endless photos and hidden discoveries to pass the time."
