It was a perfect place for 4 families to stay! Such a beautiful home and close to the ski slopes. My kids weren't ready to leave on Sunday! We will be back!
Annual business trip snowmobiling. House was perfect for our group of 7. Easy access to the best trails in the state. Nice to come back to an open floor plan overlooking the lake. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We had a great family reunion at Three Points! There was something for everyone to do. Great spaces to gather. The deck overlooking the lake was spectacular! The kitchen was well stocked to make and eat meals together. Communication with the owner was quick and helpful.
Perfect spot to create a feast and enjoy the views. We had my 89 year old mom and my 6 month old grand niece and all ages between and everyone loved it!
This location was perfect for our large family gathering celebrating my mother’s 60th birthday. Right on Lake Superior and close to so many great attractions and activities. We golfed, hiked, fished, shopped, had a camp fire and rode a gondola over Lutsen Mountain. All within 30 minutes of this beautiful property.
Three Points Lodge was the perfect place for our reunion. The layout of the house provided ample space for us to gather and enjoy wonderful conversation. We loved the deck and the fire pit was perfect on our last night, making s'mores and enjoying the night sky. We all enjoyed having our own beds too! The location was also convenient to hiking, Lutsen Mountain and Grand Marais. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us; we all had a fabulous time!
Excellent layout for togetherness and quiet moments too. The place was even nicer than the pictures suggested. Great views of Lake Superior, easy access to rocky shore. Kids had fun learning to skip rocks, fire pit great way to end the day. Kitchen was well appointed with plenty of cookware and place settings for handling a large group. Wish we could have stayed longer. Hosts were very prompt and courteous with any questions we had after booking.
Three Points Lodge is a fantastic rental for a large family. It has great gathering spaces large enough for a big group and places to find a quiet area when needing a little alone time. It has a well equipped kitchen, comfortable furniture, & of course an amazing setting on Lake Superior. Watching the sunrise was a highlight. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit right by the lake, large dinning table for family meals, and playing pac man in the game room.
Highly recommended for a large group.
This house was amazing for our large multifamily group. What made it amazing is the large number of rooms and beds, a great kitchen for cooking that can accommodate more than one person helping. A wonderful pool area and game area. Best of all each family had one of the upstairs suites with its own bathoom. This way each family had its own private bath. There were also multiple bed in each room- super rare in VRBO's so the young adult kids could stay with the parents upstairs OR in their own rooms downstairs. We will be visiting the area 3 times each winter and plan on staying here each time.
We opened the door to the most incredible view & very welcoming home. The host had a nice basket of area treats for our stay. Ample cozy seating arrangements inside & out to enjoy family chats or listening to the sounds of the lake. The home has a nice collection of original art from local artists. The kitchen was stocked with everything needed to enjoy your stay. The lakeside fire pit was one of our favorite features, the home is in a private setting. While we didn’t travel with children we appreciated how family ready the house was high chair, pack & play, stroller, toys & baby gates. Lots of games, puzzles & even a mini arcade. The host was very quick to respond to messages & provided a notebook with emergency numbers, house rules, recommendations for dining, hiking & things to do. A basket of area travel books was helpful as well. You will not be disappointed, we can’t wait to return with our family!
Over all the property was exactly as expected. Very comfortable beds and furniture. The kitchen is wonderful and very well equipped. The arcade games were a big hit with the kids. Our only complaint is that the lower level and the two main floor bedrooms were very cold. Some rooms only reaching around 60 degrees, sometimes only in the 50’s. Super cold weekend so maybe.this is to be expected. Maybe some space heaters?? Overall we loved the house!
Magnificent property right on Lake Superior. Very well appointed, inside and out. Lots of rooms, beds and bathrooms - perfect for our outing. Large fire pit outside as well as a lovely deck facing the lake. Minor observations: light bulbs burned out in kitchen fixture and fixture going to the basement. We think there must be a dead animal underneath the wood platform directly in front of the entryway door - it smells terrible. Recycling bins would be appreciated - we took some recycling home with us. And a few more blankets would be great. Really a beautiful place!
Our families (7 adults, 4 kids) loved this expansive house with a huge yard and Lake Superior shoreline. We enjoyed the deck and the fire pit (S'mores!). There are several comfortable seating areas with lake views. The kitchen is well-equipped for a large group. All the bedrooms are large with good bedding. The two boys loved the arcade games and immediately claimed the nearby bedroom as their HQ.
Although the property is secluded, the house is very close (5 min walk) to Tofte, a general store and restaurants. we rented bikes one day and rode the Gitchi Gami trail to Temperance River State Park. Some of our group went up the Sawbill Trail (about a 30 minute drive) and rented canoes for an afternoon in the Boundary Waters while another group played golf at the very scenic Superior National course (about 10 minutes down the road. We also hiked at Cascade River State Park.
All in all, a wonderful, relaxing place for a family vacation.
We enjoyed the location, the remarkable kitchen, good communication, and the views.
We had three issues.
1. Asking your guest to wash, dry, and put away all dishes before leaving is a bit tacky for a high priced VRBO. Having the dishes in the dishwasher and running it is reasonable.
2. Put detailed instructions in the binder on how to operate the heating and cooling system.
3. Better lighting in living area. All the light goes up.
None of these issues would prevent us from renting again.
We get the whole family (14 of us) together every summer - Grandma, Grandpa, our 4 grown children, 2 spouses and 6 grandchildren (ages 16,14,10,8,6,4). It is difficult to find places that have enough bedrooms, beds, & bathrooms. Also, it is really nice to have room to spread out so everyone is comfortable. And of course a big kitchen is needed - we do a lot of cooking - and also need lots of dining area. The home did not disappoint - it was very comfortable.
We are an active group - like to hike, swim, cliff jump, explore rocky shorelines, play outdoor games, have bonfires, etc.
This place has it all! The kids were non-stop on the go climbing over the rocky shoreline. We really enjoyed our time spent right at the cabin, playing bean bag in the back yard, sitting around a bonfire and just enjoying the beauty of the lake. And the little ones appreciated having the arcade games.
We also did a half day trip exploring Temperance River state park - hiking the river and exploring the shoreline.
Another half day trip was done visiting Grand Marais - we had the highly recommended steak sandwich at Superior Creamery - it was very good!
There is a very nice grocery store nearby - so close you could walk to it.
Our host was very quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had.
This home was comfortable housing 4 families in separate areas. It accommodated 13 people at the dining table and in various living rooms. It was clean upon arrival. It had everything down to the most minor detail! Lots of games, dishes, an arcade, and a sauna! We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon!
Wonderful place for our family reunion. Gorgeous setting, centrally located & the property had everything. We especially loved the yard games, fire pit & views!
The hosts were really wonderful and very accommodating. They also responded to messages super fast! The house itself had so much warmth and the views were as beautiful as the pictures. The whole stay was also very kid friendly- lots of toys and games and space to have fun. Would 100% recommend!
This home is the ultimate place to stay on Gitchigami! The home was so comfortable, had so much space and was very clean! We will for sure be staying during our next trip north!
our group enjoyed the property very much--I have been north shore many times and this place is absolutely gorgeous -- it's well design, built and furnished. And the breathtaking view from the patio is just amazing--Thank you so much--
Perfect location for a few days with extended family
The house was perfect for our 10 or so person gathering. There was plenty of room inside and out, and the setting on the lake was spectacular. There was so much to do at the house and in the surrounding community that three days didn't quite feel like long enough.
