The door to the room needed a very strong pull to open. My elderly travel companion with arthritis wasn't able to open the door. If I hadn't been traveling with her, it would not have possible for her to get out of the room. We had a room in the old stable section of the hotel.

The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly and kind.

Lovely, lovely. The proprietors and cook are friendly and considerate. There are many interesting features in the home, its decor, and the gardens. Our room (the Belvedere) was spacious—bedroom with sitting area, bathroom, living room with sitting area. The delicious breakfast was multiple courses and served on authentic heirloom quality dishes. The surrounding village, forest, and lakes are beautiful. A magical stay.

Very nice historic hotel with warm hosts

We loved this location. Very beautiful location, we were there close to beginning of summer and the water and weather were amazing. Watching the sunset from the balcony made for a memorable evening

So happy to have discovered this interesting and beautiful hotel! We chose it because the price was good and we suddenly needed to stop as we were traveling in the area. Ots more than we expected - really an historic renovated very cool place. The owner has given great detail to everything. Gorgeous artifax, furniture, attention to tiny details, including freshly baked sourdough bread at the excellent breakfast (we bought some to take with us, the crust was so good). This is a wonderful place to rest, relax and renew. breakfast is awesome with a lake view. Rooms though expensive and small, mean you can come back from the spa when tired through the connecting hotel to your room to rest. Aufguss somewhat sparse, sea sauna on the lake makes the place unique.. Winter or summer, always a pleasant stay...
