Santuario di San Pancrazio, a Pianezza (TO). Il 12 maggio 1450 a Pianezza al contadino Antonio Casella mentre falciava il prato tagliò inavvertitamente un piede alla moglie, venuta a portargli qualcosa da mangiare. I coniugi, angosciati, pregarono il Signore e furono confortati dall’apparizione di San Pancrazio che promise la pronta guarigione in cambio dell’erezione di un luogo di culto. (se gli promettessero di ivi, ad onor suo," fabbricare un Pilone".) Secondo il martiriologio cristiano Pancrazio fu condannato per la fede cristiana sotto Diocleziano, all'età di 14 anni: per decapitazione, nel 289.
