"The actual hotel is really very good and the rooms are outstanding. Nice grounds, nice pool and the food was also of a decent quality. Now on a road trip around South Africa, you get used to warnings about safety and taking care of belongings. Here we were welcomed with a lengthy delivery on all the steps the hotel was taking and what in turn we needed to do, which even by SA standards appeared a bit alarming, so made you think the surrounding area must be a huge 'worry'. "A great place if you want to be 'off grid' for a bit. Lovely location and accommodation with great wide views. All the staff were very polite and nothing was too much trouble. Our evening meals were faultless. We are happy to recommend and hope to return again one day. We would suggest of if you are want to do a trip into Addo Elephant Park with the lodge, that you book in advance. "Simply outstanding hotel near Addo Elephant Park. Special mention for Edwin on front of house who accomodated our dietary needs perfectly. The food was simply spectacular at both breakfast and dinner and the setting overlooking a pond with weaver birds is very special. The photos dont do justice to the welcome you receive as the futnishings are a little old school, but the room size and facilities are very good. Trips to Addo on their landcruiser were easy and trouble free. "
