The place looks like a fantasy, a castle in Illinois, each room different, unusual, charming. Most charming: the owners, who very sincerely want their guests to love the place. Our room was huge, with a gigantic spa bath and a fireplace; our dog was welcome (for a fee); the breakfasts were stunningly good (included in the room price); the grounds are lovely; the area is fun, pretty and interesting.

Beautiful old building, redone in contemporary style. Very comfortable and clean. Outdoor area has a private New Orleans courtyard vibe. Great location-we parked the car and walked to everything we wanted to do.

The location is wonderfully removed from downtown Galena, but still close enough to everything to make day trips easy and relaxed. We needed to change hotels quick, as kids were along and they wanted a pool to swim in. A few surrounding hotels pool's were closed, and this one wasn't. Sure glad we got to stay here!! Super clean, kitchenettes in each room, ours had a full size fridge, 2-burner cook top, full size microhood, and lots of space! Hot breakfast was very good too. Great location by local brew houses and walking to many places. Easy access to hwy. Only issue were the trains at night that we didn't know about yet...
