"We recently stayed at Quinta de la Rosa for three nights, having started our holiday in Porto. We took the train from Porto, which is a lovely way to enjoy the Douro Valley. On arrival we were able to get a taxi from outside the station and 10 minutes later were at the Quinta. Descriptions suggest this is not a hotel but rather a rustic retreat but it is carefully curated and standards are pretty high. Our suite overlooked the river and was very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was fresh with a good selection each morning. The room was well maintained and the overall atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. A great base for visiting the Douro region and nearby attractions. Would happily stay again."

"We had a comfortable room with a patio overlooking the Douro River. Staff very friendly. The only negative from our point of view was the window from the shower into the room. The botton 2/3 rds are translucent and upper 1/3 clear. If a light is turned on in bathroom bedroom is lit up as well . Also the obvious privacy issues. Other than the the room , hotel , staff, bar and restaurant are great."
