"It is a wonderful historic building with golf course in beautiful grounds. The hotel's defining feature is the pool, spa and gym facilities, which are well maintained and of very high standard. If this does not interest you, don't stay here.

"Professional and friendly staff. Rooms had everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Location was good with major attractions very close. Although we liked the hotel, we felt it somehow lacked atmosphere: there was nothing really to invite you to linger in the communal rooms or to entice you towards the bar and restaurant (music playing, welcome drink, etc)."
