The bow of Orion is visible at the far right of the image, and Jupiter is just above the rising moon, in the constellation Gemini. A faint meteor is also visible at center left. The German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is home to some of the most pristine night skies in Germany. The image was taken during a light pollution measurement campaign by Alejandro Sanchez de Miguel and Christopher Kyba. Sanchez de Miguel was in Berlin as part of a Short Term Scientific Mission of the EU COST Action LoNNe.
