"Nice hotel, the pool and steam room were very nice, plenty of parking and there is limited outdoor seating which is a big shame for summer months, but bar and restaurant are comfortable. Upgrading to better rooms may only get you robes and slippers, but for some people thats a worthwhile thing, and there are some bigger rooms too"

"Needed a place to stay before a mid morning flight back to the US. This was just a few minutes further away than the usual mid range chain hotels near the airport. We dropped our bags at the hotel and I planned on taking an Uber back from the rental car drop at the airport but they said "we will have our shuttle pick you up". The hotel itself was immaculate and impressively designed/decorated-not at all the "plain" hotel we expected. The room very clean and comfortable, drinks in the lounge top notch, dinner and breakfast fine (the breakfast buffet a bit weak but the others in our party had the full breakfast which was fine). Reasonably priced-all in all the hotel punched well above its weight"

"Driving up the driveway to MacDonald Houston House is most impressive and had a lovely welcome at reception. Room allocation was a fun mission to find ☺️ Room size is so grand and the 16th century bar setting is so quaint. Stayed for 2 nights which included the spa facilities which from the outside looks late 80s aged but I enjoyed having the spa facilities included. "

"The staff at this hotel could not have been anymore helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. They are very dog friendly and although not allowed in the restaurant which I fully agree with we could take our dog in the lounges. The pool and sauna/steam room were great and very well maintained. We would definitely return here when we are visiting this area again. Great breakfast too!"
