"Location and property are very nice. Shower was very small with a seat in the middle making it difficult to use. Breakfast was good. The room itself was just ok. Our room in particular was extremely hot. A door in the front and a window in the bathroom. No cross ventilation and the A/C had been turned off for the season. We could not leave the window open due to the mosquitos."

The hotel is beautifully restored and in a fantastic location in Pienza, just off Piazza Pio II. Our room was spotlessly clean, comfortable, with good bedding and a lovely large bathroom. The room itself was simple but very comfortable and had everything we needed.
However, the absolute highlight of this hotel is the terrace. The views across the Val d’Orcia are quite simply out of this world! You could sit there for hours just taking it...

Excellent pool area and ample seating/ sun loungers.
Layout of hotel can be a little confusing at first, finding your way down stairs to dinning area but additional signage was put up indicating directions. Hotel appears to do a lot of its business accommodating large coach parties, certainly during our stay so lots of people at breakfast at same time before they go off on trips."
"Not a 4 star hotel by any means. Property needs desperate remodeling. The carpet and the bathroom must date back to the 60’s. It may have been good when it was first built. I do not recommend it."
"Sehr schönes Anwesen, aber leider nur von außen. Unser Zimmer war total alt und abgewohnt und hatte nichts mit den auf der Internetseite gezeigten Bildern zu tun. Wir hatten das Deluxe Zimmer gebucht, welches jedoch weder von der Größe noch von der Einrichtung den Bildern entsprochen hat. Im Bad war Schimmel an der Wand.
Die Dame an der Rezeption zuckte nur mit den Schultern, dazu könne sie nichts sagen.
Zum Glück hatten wir nur eine Nacht auf der Durchreise gebucht.

"Highly recommended. A beautiful and well maintained hotel in the beautiful town in Umbria. Room was clean and spacious, good A/C. Well stocked bathroom. Excellent breakfast. The staff speak English very well and were very helpful with the luggage and other things we needed done there. Great location in the town. Nice pool and grounds."
